Distant Worlds Mining CG now only CG for people do what you want

CG should be for the whole community not only for things you favour.

A CG should be reachable for every casual player.

You can do sutch CG´s but please provide CG for the people who BLAZE THEIR OWN TRAIL and not only for special groups of 3 hour jumpers.

Jumping 5000 Ly for a mining CG fun for the people their the rest we don´t care.

It´s so easy who is hurt if you do 2 CG´s 1 in bouble 1 for Distant worlds and best would be one in Colonia too so everybody it´s happy.

It´s not that hard, do they have no sence for the playerbase...again...mabe system is full of thargoids too as a surprise

I think when 10.000 players are gathered around the same system far away it's kinda okay to have a CG around that, don't you think?
Next you organize something with that player count and that might also get its own CG, because it's cool. It's awesome! It's a great way of players working together with the devs to change the game world. Because that's what DW2 will do.
If you really can't think of that as kinda exciting or a really cool move and only see how you can't attend because it's far away you didn't really learn the first thing about Elite:

You are insignificant. Everybody is. Nobody here is CMDR Special Snowflake or a great hero by default. So perhaps look at how awesome it is to have a CG created for this endeavor and the 10k players who are taking part. Because, why not? It's awesome!

Sure thing... let them have their CG. Would it be a problem to make a second CG for everytone else, though?

This subject comes up every time there is a CG not in the bubble. The folks at colonia mostly get nothing for most of the year.

So how would you create a CG that reachable by ALL casual players to begin with? CG's are optional to participate in, you know, blaze your own trail and all that jazz. Shouldn't Colonia, ask for a CG ever week too then? as there is also large player base in Colonia too, and then out of a CG evry week, and by your statement, they should be entitled to a CG every week too.
And what about that large player base of casual explorers roaming around just about everywhere. They are most of the time, severly locked out of participating in any CG's...

That would make you unable to participate in atleast half of all available CG's. and what if the Colonia ones where the most fun ones?

I have no problem with CG's being all over the place, and moving around quite a bit. I do not see any real need for having several parallel CG's unless they are competing against each other. So I do not find it bad if the Bubble do not have a CG every week, because they are arranged in Colonia, 5k LYU out, or wherever they might be located. It is up to the players if they want to participate or not, and if that includes huge travel distances, then that is the price to join.

I do believe CG's should represent what players are doing, so CG's should cater for a specific activity, and this includes lesser favoured activities enjoyed by a smaller number of players, but these would not happen as often as the CG's for the more popular activities.

Perhaps. One of the reasons I think CGs tend to work fairly well in Colonia in terms of player support is that they *don't* happen weekly. We get about five a year, they're all for something reasonably important to the region, so we get together and put the effort in. If they were weekly I think we'd get bored of them fairly quickly.

Colonia does have the ~40 engineer blueprint upgrades going on, though, which is a bit like a CG but rather more flexible and interesting. I'd rather see more of that sort of thing than more CGs. (Station repairs are a similar type of thing for the main bubble)

In terms of the main bubble, with a few exceptions it's generally the same people doing CGs regardless of where they are. Adding more simultaneous CGs would just reduce the level of support each individual one got.

Good points but I think it could work ,they just have to be more interesting and with a lot more profit.

So how would you create a CG that reachable by ALL casual players to begin with?

Player-created CGs, tbh. Even if it just starts out as "Provides a credit supplement to a given activity"... e.g I contribute 200m credits, so that for every credit of profit a player makes trading Metals at a station is doubled from the pool I've contributed.

It's a credit-sink for those with lots of currency, achieves effects (whether BGS or otherwise), creates dynamic activities and opportunities for players. Imagine how the recent NI community goal could've gone down if players could've backed other commanders with their own credits, if they contributed to Nova Imperium. Imagine being one of these billionaires, and being able to sink those funds in to motivating players to repair some of the damaged stations around the place? FD would still need to hand-of-god activities to create stations like this one, but that's fine.

Leave it up to the players to deal with low-impact CGs where it's "Fetch random commodity X for RP reason Y", which frees up FD to spend more effort making quality universe-shaping CGs like this one.

What makes the CG dynamic so crucial for you that you can not afford to skip one of them just for a single week?

No exaggerated payouts, no CG specific decals, no great profit opportunity from the mats in question, it's just a regular CG. Only out of the bubble.

Only for a week.

Why act like it happens a lot more frequently that others keep missing a bunch?

This. I know, it's the internet, but drama is really unnecessary...

I did my share of cranking up the engineers this week. :)

Like the idea of this CG, but, it's too far, and pays too little. The last part is a turnoff...

So, I am driving around, having fun. I don't worry about CG's, normally.

I'm not signed up for Distant Worlds, but I still intend to show up for this CG. I don't care about the money - in fact it's going to cost me a small fortune in shipped modules to convert my Exploraconda into a miner.*

No, it's about knowing, when I eventually roll to up to the station at Sag A, that I participated, if only in the smallest way possible, in its creation.

*My Exploraconda can get to the CG site pretty quickly, but it's a very lightweight build. I might be able to get mining modules at Omega Mining Operation or I might not, but I certainly wouldn't count on being able to get a more robust power train or a better shield.
