1. I rushed back from Sagittarius A* from a previous personal trip after Distant Worlds restarted to retool and rejoin the expedition.
2. I Died for the first time at Nyuenooe FF-Q d5-2157 on the far side of the core, about 26.5 kly from Sol and had to buckyball back (Flying without due care and attention under highish G while chasing the sunrise)
3. I died for the second time at Hypumaea AP-I b38-1 between waypoints 18 and 19, about 41 kly out as the crow flies (I don't even want to think about how far I'd actually travelled), and raced back out via 19 and 20 to catch up with the fleet again for the meetup at waypoint 21.

Particular mentions to the peeps in discord for teaching me all kinds of things (HT to Kancro for build advice when I was first building the recusante for DW in particular), AirOnSkin, hepburn3D and Elith for the good company and bad driving at so many waypoints, the candyball crew for the fantastic racing (and some properly daft voicechat), Olivia and May for good chat (and the latter for company and commiseration in long range buckyballing), Finwen and Anthor for troubleshooting my weird pc problems above and beyond the call of duty, Dr. Kaii for some unexpected conversations and friendship.

Comment on the Expedition:

The most social experience I have ever had in this game, in fact the most social experience I have had in any game since Ultime Online, many many many many years ago. Exploring doesn't have to be lonely - and may never be again. Looking at all these green markers on my map, all the chatter in fleetcom and all the plans coming together for the Crab Nebula, the Rift, the various outgrowths of the Sagittarius-carina arm trip, the Hyperion province expedition ... we've lit a fire here that will burn for many years.

Additional Comments:When I attempted to cross the abyss, I ended up getting stuck. With discussion with the rock rats, we concluded there was no way to get out, even with their help - as such, I self-destructed and did the entire journey after in a span of 48 hours. On my second way over, my jump range was increased to 39Ly, and I removed the Fuel Rat gear, although I did have it on my previous ship all the way to the abyss. It was an honour!

Statement about the expedition: It was a personal challenge for me, I was already out exploring (had headed out about 2 weeks prior towards Sag A* with the goal of attempting to reach elite in exploration on this trip. I had not heard about the expedition until a few days before the launch. so made a mad dash back towards waypoint 1 (was actually past what become waypoint 6 at the time). It was a nice but buy solo journey after I had some issues with my PC which required a reformat and reinstall etc and never did get a repacement key for the teamspeak server so just continued on in open mode...

Took a week out of the game in 'protest' over frontiers initial response to the SDC debacle when they invaded mobius during the middle of march and that really is the main reason why my arrival is a week later than I had actually planned it to be when I entered the DWE expedition.

I found a nice system I like to call 'The Briar Patch' it consists of a Neutron star at the centre of a nebula - it is the only system inside the nebula which was about 1K Ly off the path of the journey between 2 waypoints. The blue of the nebula and lack of light from the Neutron star resulted in local space appearing as a greenish blue colour while flying in it.
