Change of Ship Details
Ship type: Asp
Ship name: Cleopatra II
Jump range: 32.5
------------------
Player Factions/Groups I am aligned with: FGE
Number of times I had to return to the bubble: 3 - first time I lost an SRV messing around on a mountain near an early WP. Headed back for replacement and gone blasted to smithereens 1 jump from a station. 2nd time was because I found an untagged ELW about 10,000ly out and just couldn't *not* go back. The proceeds allowed me to park up 'the Brick' (T6) and purchase the Asp (Cleopatra). the 3rd time was after an unfortunate gravitational incident during a photo shoot a couple of systems out from Sag A* - this incident put me sooo far behind the main fleet that I would never catch (I was only a few days behind when it happened and had two long weekends pending.....they ended being used to catch up the the FGE fleet)
List of players I hung out with: KJKB1980, Wishblend, Corbin Moran, Chrystoph, Botacalor, mostly - there were plenty of others along the way that I couldn't possible list all!
Statement about the expedition: My previous (and 1st) trip was 1000ly or so to Barnards - mostly using economy....3 months. The scale of this adventure is mind boggling frankly. And almost every single waypoint has been spectacular along the way - truly, a great job guys. The scale of the universe is almost depressing - getting across the abyss was such an achievement....only to realise there was STILL another 10,000ly to go...oh man.
I have learnt HEAPS. My first (err couple) ship(s) I used the AFMU.....a lot. Don't know why tbh, just lots of dumb mistakes. This ship is still at 99/100% (depends on the day it seems) and most modules are 99% so I never bothered topping them off. Yet, at the same time, I've gone from taking several minutes per system, to learning too fast modes: 'buckyballing' - around 47 secs per system, no opening of system map, and 'fast travel' - around 58 secs per system including adding distance to next system into EDD and thus also seeing what the next star is and opening system map and aborting FSD if there's anything interesting.
I've also discovered the joy of meet-ups with folks from across the globe in RL and have loved reading the stories and seeing the pictures along the way. It truly has been epic, and whilst I'm glad it's done, I'm also sad it's done. The return trip will be much less organised and regimented which is both good, and bad - probably it will be much more lonely.
So finally, truly a big thanks to everyone involved - it has been absolutely awesome!
