Ship type: Asp Explorer
Ship name: Perseverence
Jump Range: 30.48LY (31.28LY)
Primary role during the expedition: I tagged along on a whim and never officially signed up for a duty but I did a little exploring on the way and recorded a Music Video Series of my journey as a Tribute to the original Starman himself, David Bowie.
Group: Mobius / Open
Home system: Not sure were I first started but I was hanging around Reddot (Motherlode) mostly before this expedition and that was kind of my base then I shifted to Wu Guan. That is where I was just before I left for this expedition.
Number of times returned to bubble: 4 (the returns happened at the first couple of waypoints only, due to little accidents and beginner's fear. After my 5th accident I just bit the bullet and kept on going)
List of players I hung out with at Waypoint 19: Bravada Cadelanne, Cornelius Robinson, ThudPucker, # G #, Kwasek, Panicbutton, Sgt Duckduckby, TJS2474, Tumama, Voiddancer and Whiterabbit
Hull Integrity: 77%
Other comments: I was inspired to make a Bowie Tribute video log of my mainly solitary travels and learned a lot on the way (some hit but most missed), it's all a learning experience I guess. At Waypoint 20 real life took over and I also lost a lot of time due to a computer crash and I needed to reinstall the entire operating system. Because of this I decided to cut corners and headed in a diagonal line to Beagle Point skipping two of the rendevous points. It wasn't until somewhere near Beagle's Crossing that due to my low jump Range I got stuck and I realised I needed to track back and follow the THE RONCEVAUX CROSSING and THE SUBLUSTRIS BEACON routes (waypoints 21 & 22). This added another 3 late nights during precious work days) Sagittarius A* was a strange Highpoint, I was too late to meet up with others again but I made part 15 of my tribute to David Bowie Playing Blackstar against the backdrop of Sagittarius A* which sent chills down my spine at times
here, I met up with a large group of commanders to record some low key shenanigans such as syncronised Ship Dismissals and a bit of SRV maneuvering and Boosting, Bowie's Heroes playing in Tandem.
I hope to get some footage of the Beagle Point wedding too and I'm thinking of maybe setting it to Bowie's 'Be My Wife' and maybe a few others to finally draw a line under the expedition and my nod to the great Starman himself.
Thanks for organising this the information and frequent update's were invaluable for my first attempt at long range exploration. My commander would be stranded in some inaccessible region of space or smashed to bits on some planet by now if it were not for your tips and support on this journey .... hope I make it back home now
Good Luck to everyone still to make it here and of course on the journey home. For now I hope I can take some time out of real life and catch a little bit of the get-together tomorrow.

Home system: I move around, don't have one.
Number of times I had to return to the bubble: 0- that's right, I took my lumps and kept going. That is not a challenge. List of players I hung out with: Hung out? I am usually on when starlancer, grnbrg, kancro, neotron and olivia are on. Not sure if that constitutes "hanging out".
Other comments: Not long before this expedition I was looking at the stars on the opposite side of the galaxy map saying to myself "it would be cool to go there, but I'd never have the time to go all that way." Then this expedition was announced and I was already out on a tour of nebulae toward barnard's loop, horsehead, seagul and beta caranae. I thought I'd not be able to dedicate enough time to join the expedition so I didn't sign up with the original bunch.
After the gold paint job came out for the asp explorer and I had gathered a bit more faction and money, I decided I did have the time and I could catch up. I zipped as fast as I could and caught up before Sagittarius A*. Ran into a few black holes, burned some hull, bounced off of a planet even and talked to some friendly players around the (real) world. It made the trip out the Beagle Point much better than it would have been alone.

The Rock Rats and the prospectors channel, most notably:
Nightstrider, Eisen, iDragox, Montague Druitt, Olivia Vespera, GreyTest, Myshka, Baroness Galaxy, Kancro Vantas, AstroMiko, Michael Darkomoor, Starlancer, Maya Posidana
Statement about the expedition:
This has been an incredible journey. I decided to join after returning from a 4 month hiatus, and signed right onto discord to find only the prospector's chat inhabited by actual people. In a split second, I became one of them. Their advice and support saw me through 20,0000 light years in two days, and I've proudly considered myself a rock rat ever since. I've seen a sidewinder into Beagle Point by prospecting for him. I feel I have made a real difference.
It's a strange thing, that we find so much companionship so far out from the populated systems. Explorers are a strange group of people; we spend so much time alone in the stars, that once we meet up, we huddle together in tight groups, as if desperate to find a moment of human connection and intimacy. And just like that, we break up and are gone among the stars. It's a humbling thought that I've seen more people on the other side of the core, than I ever did in the bubble. It's inspiring, and I will join the next great expedition. I have to.

Number of times I had to return to the bubble: Once after jumping into a close binary system between the stars (which I had never done before) and stupidly cutting my throttle in panic instead of steering out of the inferno. Fortunately this was between Eagle and NGC 6357 so not too far to go.
List of players I hung out with: Explored a Black Hole for the first time with Qohen Leth around WP 2 or 3; said hi to several commanders on their way down while orbiting the WP planet.
Statement about the expedition: I think this is the most different experience I've had in a computer game since playing the original BBC Elite in 1984. The epic nature of the trip and the real feeling of exploring the unknown far beyond civilization as part of a team is something I've never seen in a game before and it has been incredible. I don't think I have ever played a game before when my sole motivation has been simply to see what is out there and to face the challenge of exploring remote and distant locations. It has been an absolutely incredible experience - and that's without even being able to land on planets, I can only imagine how much more fun it would have been had I been able to do that. Now if only we could find a Thargoid that would really be special!
The only other thing to add is that I really hope you can get the group back together for another expedition: I'd suggest a galactic circumnavigation with two teams going in opposite directions and a rendezvous at Beagle point.
