Distress and Social Beacons

Okay so I get the initial concern that many players will have with distress beacons, you know with gankers either faking or hunting calls. But I have a couple ideas on how they could be implemented effectively. First of all enabling a beacon broadcasts the players location on the galaxy map with a tag corresponding to the beacon type. Now when within 1500ly of Sol or 1000 ly of Colonia beacons only have a range of 20ly or so due to saturation of radio signals. Outside of these areas beacon signals have a range of 2000ly of the originating system. Distress beacons come in one of two or three types, Fuel, Repair, or Both Fuel and repair. As for Social beacons these simply allow other CMDRs, like the distress beacons, to see the senders system. These can also come in two types General and PvP. The main purpose of the General social beacon is to allow CMDRs on deep-space exploration journeys to find one another and make new friends. PvP is self explanatory simply a call that you are open to some PvP.
 
I love this idea of distress beacons so much. I understand that people have third party tools like the Fuel Rats' website and such, but the more we can put *in* the game, the better, IMO.
