Horizons Distribution of passengers within the cabin modules

Greetings fellow spacefarers,

While it is possible to assign two or more groups to a single passenger module ...

Much to the horror of the first class passengers when they see a bunch of economy louts* being upgraded.

* ( Upright, socially responcible individuals who choose to make efficent use of resources)

... It is not possible to split a group into two cabins of the appropriate type.

Example:

(In an effort to improve readability, all passengers and cabins are business class unless otherwise stated)

You install two modules, each with a cabin capacity of 6, thus having a total capacity of 12 but even with no other passengers aboard, you are currently unable to take the contract to transport 8 passengers.

Now, depending on the ship, you could install the next size module with a capacity of 10 but that does not really deal with the underlying issue as you can still end up being unable to take a contract even though you have sufficent seats of the correct type.

Would it not be better to 'pool' the available seating into types (Economy, Bussiness, etc) with an available total for each and assign passengers to those catagories rather than assign a group of passengers into any one particular module?

This was something I wanted to ask about too... I have a 12-seat first class module and a 10-seat business class module, yet I can't take 22 business class passengers on board (even though logic states it should be possible). Is this intended? And another one: how the hell could FD release the expansion with one of the main features being broken? Now Im talking about the tourism beacons that you dont get a location for on second leg of your mission... One would think developers have already learned to postpone rather than to release broken content :-( (Yeah, this was a bit of a rant, sorry for that :p)

Very hit and miss for me it sometimes allows me to stack multiple passenger groups in single cabin modules sometimes not, as for spanning passenger groups across multiple cabin modules, we can do that with cargo racks for hauling missions so why not passengers? For example you can take a "deliver 132 units of consumer technology in the name of democracy" mission in a python which has class 6 racks at biggest so the 132T will occupy at least two of those class 6 racks and 4T will go into another rack somewhere else on the hull.

You've not been playing the game all that long have you? :p

If the passenger icon is wearing a crown they will not share cabins with anyone else.

No crown and they will share.

This ^^ and they will go into cabins that are higher class then they paid for. Economy will travel in Business class, etc..

I hit exactly this problem last night - I outfitted my favourite Imperial Courier with two Business class cabins, 4 seats each. However, I wasn't able to accept missions that had 5 or more passengers, even though I could carry 8 in total.

I have 2 business and 1 economy and yesterday the 2 business 'merged' to cater for the space required, for the mission. Not sure why your attempt failed to do this.
