Divinity Original Sin 2

I felt the second is more difficult especially in the starting hours until you get better kit and money for spells. I started on classic but bumped it down to explorer.

It's because of the new physical/magical armor system, really. In the first game you could knock down half the enemy group or set them on fire before combat even started. Now armor prevents the shenanigans until you break it down completely. And the AI is sneaky and evil, too. From what I could tell you really want at least one character with a bow or xbow to destroy physical armor if you want to use the warfare skills effectively. On the other hand, this also makes a summoner pretty valuable, because 3 elemental totems + incarnate does a number on enemy magic shields :D

I gotta say, i love the idea of starting as an undead.

utilizing poison as an offensive AOE while getting healed by it is damn useful...until your team members who are alive start to die because of it...

As undead you definitely want that Raz.. something's Claw. Turns any healing potion into poison. Found as loot just can't recall where. Oh and ofc Pet Pal is a must have talent. It makes the game so much more fun.

Yeah the talon thing. I have it and I know what you mean.

I have pet pal. Sadly I lost the black cat that was following me around dunno where. I know no details but apparently he becomes very useful so I'm gutted I don't know what happened to it.

Animals following you often are lost when using waypoint traveling.

Yeah, waypoint travel makes them a bit confused, but it always found my party in two different games.

Not sure about usefulness, but if the cat follows you out of Fort Joy, as in you keep it until one of the escape methods (as there are at least 3 that I know of), it tells you that it wants to travel with you,and you get a skill called "Summon Familiar". No idea what it does, because due to difficulty we didn't dare summon it in combat, as it becomes vulnerable.

Oh and might be common knowledge, but it came as a surprise to me as it never existed in the first DOS or the Early Access build: some quests have a reward screen. So always follow-up on every character that tells you to follow or might have something to thank you for. Got some nice pieces of gear from the Elf you can help against the thugs in Fort Joy, and Amyro's ward also gives you a reward if you free him back in the cave.

Also make sure you eat every single bodypart you come across as an elf. Lots of interesting little stories about the deceased, and some impart skills to you. Adrenaline, First Aid, Levitate...

Definitely do not eat every body part, as you may get punished for it. ;)

Oh, you can just summon the cat, if it dies you can summon it anew.

Is it possible to turn (formerly) living companions into undead?

It's annoying that the little meatbags melt all the time when i cast poison around me.

Or at least a simple way to find more undead companions instead of that one undead mage...

Im playing co-op with friends, we are a group of undead soldiers and this game is a blast.. :D

Even more blast is to go to places without the hoods as everyone attacks immediately.

The game needs more undead NPC's to join you.

Found one so far and it's annoying because poison heals me but kills my team members.

Making them undead would be a nice option.

- Undead thief is a blast since i always have my skeleton key (finger)
- Using poison blast around me means I can always heal while wounding my enemies
- Playing dead is always fun
- Undead elf is fun since eating corpses can teach me new skills
- Why we cannot use telekinesis on "USE" items like ladders we need to reach i do not understand.

There is away you could start the game 4 times open a multiplayer and join yourself in. Creating 4 characters start the game save and kill the other 3 clients.
Bam full undead party.

You need to start the .exe in the bin folder of the game in order to be able to start it multiply times.

Is playing dead a benefit in some way mate? I haven't been back to play this for awhile now and hadn't tried using it.

well, poison heal you and you cannot drown so there is that. and undead always have lockpicks - their fingers.

built in skeleton key.

No I mean the skill " play dead" that the undead have access to. I couldn't really see a tactical advantage to using that in a fight or whatever just wondering if you knew something more about it.

It IS useful since you are dead for three turns and combat is turned off for that time.

- If the enemy leaves you can get away
- If not your skills will gain 3 turns on their reset cycle

Built a Shadowblade, took some varied points in different schools. Huntsman, Geomancy, etc.
Made a Throw Dust skill book from a Geo and Huntsman book combination. Made poisoned weapons with an ooze barrel and a stack of daggers. Having murderous fun.
