DK2 conflicting stereo image on background asteroids in RES

Anyone else having occasional issues with the 'background' asteroids at RES appearing different to each eye creating a bizzare depth/focus effect?

it manifests as your brain not being able to place their depth and they appear strangely focused. I believe its some kind of stereo image problem because when i close one eye i can see them clearly
and when i close the other it appears to be a different arrangement of asteroids.

everything else in the game is presented perfectly to both eyes and I'm having no discomfort but its just slightly immersion breaking when this happens.

Anyone else had this issue?

Yes, not everytime, but often, and only with far asteroids. I have it from day one when I first used the DK2 in January, and read other threads with people seeing the same. AFAIK I also saw a support ticket opened for this. You're not alone ;)

Any of you guy's play CQC? It causes a bug with the background asteroids in VR once you return to the main game. A tickets been logged..

supposedly fixed with todays beta:

Fix for billboard asteroids not converging on the Oculus Rift and having different orientations in any 3D mode when stereo rendering is not enabled from the start of the game session

Change your graphics driver. If you're using the latest or a recent one... go back to an earlier one.

I had this issue with a previous but recent Nvidia driver. Asteroids and background were not at correct depth. Going to an old driver fixed it. However, I'm now on Nvidia's latest and no issues at all and the smoothest game I've experienced.

I had this issue in the 1.3. logging out of the RES and back in sometimes fixed it for me. IIRC it might take a couple of reloads.
