DLC's - An Idea, Nothing More

I was thinking, I read about the permits that the beta and backers got. When the game was at those stages I didn't know about it, so I didn't get the chance to back it up and maybe get those permits. We live in a world where every game has at least one DLC for it, so I was thinking that it wouldn't be a bad idea to be able to pay money for a "DLC" that gives you access to a certain permit. That way Frontier gets more motivation to keep updating the game and stuff. Keep in mind that this is an idea only.

The best thing of this game is there are no winners just the elite ratings and thats what i want .

No other wise this would be seen as pay to win or to short cut the game mechanics.

The thing is, as you present it all beta backers that got a permit are getting "Pay to win". I am not suggesting to make the game pay to win, just make it so people who didn't back the game when it was in Beta have the chance to pay extra money to get the same award the beta backers got when they paid extra money.

TBH the stuff Kickstarter backers got isn't anything spectacular.. the best perk is the starting setups, and you can easily kit your own ship out like that after a few hours play.

The founders world is cool but you're going to move on from there soon enough anyway, and the Sol permit you can also get in game if you want it.

I see where you are coming from, but it would be nice to at least have the option...

the playing field is almost equal

I backed early so I have the Sol Permit, but I don't have the Achenar or Alliance Homeworld Permits, and for the former I WANT to work my way to earning it, not microtransaction it away.

I didn't lay down 200 quid to be able to get free DLC, I did it to get a game I loved in my younger days remade for a new generation. The kickstarter packages are just a nice bonus to that and having faith in FD to get the game made. Started off with a £30 pledge and just went up as we got closer to the goal. Then the final push on David Braben's birthday saw it get funded.

As somebody who did not back the game at kickstarter I strongly disagree with your idea. I see where you're coming from, but it was super easy to get a permit to Sol. Only a couple play sessions doing Federation missions nets you the permit to Sol. It was not difficult at all.

Paid content should be reserved for the content-heavy Expansions, like Planetary surfaces and walking around inside and outside of your ship.

I agree, this is a huge difference in the business model from Star Citizen, I'm backer there too. However there you can kit yourself out ever before the game has begun. Maybe that is why, you know $60 MIO. Going to be interesting to see how that will impact the game play.
