Greetings CMDR o7.
In our beloved game, there are issues with anti-aliasing and stair-stepping. These problems can only be fixed by using the Super sampling function. I know this firsthand, as I use a 27‑inch monitor with 2K resolution, and it puts a heavy load on the graphics card. (I see no point in explaining how Super sampling works.)
By default, after setting ultra settings, the game automatically applies the first version of FSR scaling mode—which briefly came out in 2021—and it ruins the image very, very much.
Why don’t Frontier implement FSR 3 or DLSS? Other games they develop already have DLSS. I won’t even get started on the frame generator.
Does this mean Elite Dangerous players are second-rate?
Chris Roberts’ unreleased Star Citizen boasts three modes: FSR, DLSS (now at version four), and its own TCR technology.
And don’t forget that games developed by Frontier Developments run on the Cobra Engine, so in my opinion, if other games have new technologies, implementing them in Elite shouldn’t be a problem.
I suggest we bring up this issue to improve the gaming experience for all pilots in the galaxy. After all, Elite is always relegated to second place and even sidelined on Frontier Unlocked streams.
Do you agree with my proposal to introduce the “new” technologies that are present in other Frontier games or not?
Fly safe, CMDR o7.
