Do Any Of You Actually Play ED?

It gets worse.
Go to a planet within the bubble that you know was discovered.
Open the surface scanner.
If the planet shows as 0% mapped ( even if it has a 'first mapped by' tag )
Launch your probes and map it.
When you sell the data, you will be awarded first discovery, get paid, and your codex will be updated.

Hm, sounds very similar to a very old Client bug.

Old bug :
  • 1st Discovery tags were assigned and awarded for visibly already-tagged Objects (any)
  • 1st Discovery messages and Bonus was shown & applied when selling the Data
  • opening System Maps had Clients display new CMDR Tags, back then it even happened to Sag.A*
It was a hot topic (as it appeared as CMDRs were unintentionally "stealing" 1st Discoveries all over the place) - but got fixed within ~2 weeks or so, supposedly the Exploration Database didn't get corrupted as many feared in those days.
Still, in theory it could be that a similar bug now re-surfaced. Wouldn't be the first time ;)
Someone should check if CMDR Zulu Romeo is still properly tagged on SagA*

Yeah, I've noticed that alot of old tags simply disappeared in the bubble. The only remaining ones are the "1st Mapped by".

With the change to the FSS and mapping system for a short time players could get first discoveries on already discovered planets and moons - those that where "discovered" by the game and not by other players.
FDev changed that and removed all those false first discoveries.
Since 1. mapped was new, that stayed.

That's how it's supposed to work. If a system is called undiscovered, then it is undiscovered by you - meaning you haven't scanned it. That's all.
You will be able to scann it and get paid for that scan. You won't get the first discovery bonus obviously.
Same with mapping a planet/moon.

If a system is unknown/undiscovered to you, you will have to scan and map it to get the informations and you will get paid for it - even if thousands of other CMDRs have already mapped it or discovered it before you.

Noticed the issue of missing "Discovered by" tags for a while, and actually, I did ask myself "oh!?", before I moved on because I couldn't care less whether whatever system I traverse through was discovered by CMDR xXHaxx0rSnip4-123-Xx or whoever else.

And YES (to answer your question) I play almost daily, and enjoying it (mostly). And this includes the occasional exploring session.

By any chance, do you just go around making false accusations of shadow bans and hacking about everybody?
Whoa, that escalated quickly.

It's not like the CMDR saw your name in hacking forums discussing interest (and results of testing) ToS-breaking tools.

So we have an obsessed OP who passively agressively fails over and over with each new topic he starts to mention it is a bubble-related bug, while reacting way over the top to the suggestion he could have been shadowbanned, and a community that tries its best to ignore glaring bugs or pretend it is a feature.

Cool.

Even if that is so, I can confirm that the 'first discovered by' tags are gone in the bubble. Not my issue as I aint there, but it is still a bug that should be fixed.

Yes, it seems today's patch re-introduced the 3.3 First Discovery bug. Not the first time a patch re-introduces a bug, wont be the last. Not the end of the world, but does need to be mentioned.

But if possible not via another ten topics by OP...

Not obsessed at all, and quite frankly no longer interested.

Nah'. Not much these days.

I did play yesterday. After half an hour I was back on ESO.

ED fails as an MMO. Nobody talks, there is no player market, raid-level content requires ridiculous activities to unlock such as flying 5kly for literally no reason other than to bother you, and the tools to organise groups for raid-level content are, frankly, crap.

I've moved onto real MMOs. As for my spaceship fix? Space Engineers. HOTAS play? Proper flight-sims.

I'm not saying that ED is doomed, but for me personally, the love-story is over. I'm now focusing on building a bespoke fighter-trader following the spirit of the Cobra in Space Engineers.

I play, but thankfully I stopped noticing things like those tags some time ago.
I wished for them to be togglable and since it didn't happened, looks like my brain switched them off. Good brain.
