Do they have plans to add large ships with hangars [to carry other ships]?

Of course, making gigantic battle cruisers usable for the players would be sort of ridiculous [not to mention unfair], but having the ability to have one or two small fighters in the back would be nice.

The in-game description of the Anaconda mentions a docking bay module for a Sidewinder-sized ship. Maybe this module will be implemented with a future update.

In one of the books I just read (Wanted I think it was) an Anaconda has a hangar for a Sidewinder in place of a cargo hold That would be cool.

I think it would be great if you could use a Class 6 or 7 slot as a "Tow Cable" or something similar to move your ships, you'd only be able to do it one ship at a time, and it would obviously affect maneuverability, jump distance, etc ... but it would be cool to be able to 'tow' or move your ships, or even stranded ship homies out in space. Have some type of autodocking procedure involved to get the ship into the station, maybe even take it to another entry point on the station specifically for this type of situation.

And of course you could lose it if you got interdicted and somebody shot out your cable/connection but I would think that would be difficult. And they could take your towed ship if succesful, so you'd be forced to fight for it.

Would be cool to dock in a capital ship and proceed to man one of their turreted blasters Star Wars stylee. Or even an Orbital.

It has been mentioned by FD that Anacondas may be able to carry a smaller ship instead of cargo. Also, if you watch some of the videos showing the Imperial capital ships, or better yet go study one, you will see that there is an actual docking bay inside. It is not active... yet. But why have it there if it is not going to be one day?

That's a nice idea. It could serve as something similar to a space station, but perhaps only accessable if you're in 'league' with its associated faction.

According to the wiki found here

[h=3] Can I own and control capital ships?[/h]
There will be capital ships in the game, but initially you won't be able to control or own them, but they will be player controllable in an expansion.
Although you can't fly capital ships, you will still be able to own and fly large multi-crew ships like the Anaconda, the Panther LX, the passenger ships and big ships can carry other ships, so you’d be able to launch a small fighter from it, which is more nimble.
