Do you feel neglected?

I would give my opinion but apparently opinions are not allowed in this thread if they don't agree with the OP [wacky]

You’re welcome to give your opinion. But let’s be adult here and add some context and how it relates to the original post. Not just ‘no, because it’s a game’.

I agree a little bit with Scott i feel his pain. But i also think, its just a game. Were at their mercy and we cant demand anything. Let alone feel neglected. No we don't have to expect anything from frontier regarding management or engagement its nonexistent. They do bug reports though and that's very important too. I do love the volunteers here on the forums they are great! I personally stepped over my pains. Its a great game, fantastic company and a super community. But Planco is far from finished yet there are so many things to fix, to add. We need patience or maybe a Planco 2.

neglected? no, its a game.

Agree. [up]

Do I feel neglected? LOL, of course not. Then again, I'm not emotionally needy.... or, my emotional needs don't come from game developers.

the odd DLC with some shiny new features is shoved down our throats. A band aid on a gaping wound.

Like sands through the hourglass, so are the posts on this forum. Yeh... like the DLC was shoved down our throats causing vomiting like guests after a bad ride. I vomited all over the place with that last Studios DLC. It was a mess. Vomit everywhere. Then I slipped over in my computer generated vomit and cried crocodile tears, because deep down in the voxels of my soul, I knew I just needed to *get gud* at the game and needed someone to blame. [cry]

the forums are free, we dont pay for them, so... did you pay for the CoasterHead Club Membership? No you don't have the badge... like I said in my original reply, the team has given us several community contests, and many livestreams (they are currently taking a break to move their offices to a bigger place) so maybe you don't keep up on every little piece of information out there... maybe you are unaware of everything the team does, but they are better than a lot of other companies out there

now are we here to discuss how the forums work, or are we here to discuss the game? I think that most of us are here to actually enjoy the game, as well as the forums, but calling somebody pathetic, or telling them to grow up and saying their response is unproductive is not very friendly of you even if you were right (which your not), and you could have just ignored her like you did with everybody else...

I'm reviewing this thread on request of the OP.

Please keep it on topic; Do you feel neglected (from a community aspect) ?

@Scott Telling people to "grow up" and calling a reply a "pathetic, unproductive response" is unfriendly and not respectful. This is not tolerated on these forums. Please familiarise yourself with the Forum Rules and Guidelines and adhere to them.

There's no need to discuss each other. Stick to the topic. Thanks!

Update:
Thread review complete. Some off-topic posts were deleted.
Just in case: please remember that discussing moderation actions is not allowed on these forums.
See the Forum Rules and Guidelines on how to appeal a moderation action.

Thanks for your reply. However, it was too far off-topic.

Please keep it on topic; Do you feel neglected (from a community aspect) ?

Replies will have to answer this question, and if you feel up to it, you can add an explanation about why you feel (not) neglected.

I don't feel neglected by Frontier and here is why.

Whilst it is true that I, along with most other regular Planet Coaster players would like an update every month I also know that from a development point of view, that is simply not possible.

I have worked in development myself (not for a game but for a pensions admin system), and some "quite minor looking changes" can have a big impact on how a system works. Often what sounds complicated is not too bad to implement and simple things can be an absolute nightmare to install.

I actually think that a short announcement time to delivery is a good way to do things as we forum users will often post "I hope the new DLC will have this, that or the other" and can then be disappointed when the thing we came up with hasn't been implemented. For a program as complex as Planet Coaster you are never going to satisfy everyone.

The fact that the last DLC also included a free element bodes well. Adding too much "new stuff" to a system can have quite a catastrophic effect especially for a program as flexible as Planet Coaster. I have no doubt that us users have used PC in ways the devs never thought we would and apart from the odd minor glitch, Planet Coaster goes from strength to strength.

Let us show the developers that we, the Planet Coaster community are still interested in this simulator and want to support it! Lots of traffic on the forum is one way of doing this!

Neglected is a big bad word imo.

I'm freaking excited about this game, it's still developing and it's getting better in every update.
Al tough the game screams for a management / game play update, i feel far from neglected.
This is a wonderful development !

Community asks, community kinda gets what it wants within the budget / possibilities.
It's not easy for filling every individual's wishes.
Some things just take a lot of resources and time. You can't have it all :)

I am amazed by the level of community events / livestreams and things going on,
but i sincerely hope that this will keep going, as the game indeed does not reaches it's full potential yet.
I understand that, with the release date of the new jurrassic game, things will probably be more focused on that game.
But i would be heartbroken if we have reached the stage with only the occasionally DLC scenery pack, instead of a true gameplay update and continued development.

So seriously, neglected is not my vision.
Great work, it's the best theme park builder ever created.
But the sim park is lacking which makes it sometimes hard to going back to the game.

Great work anyway ... !

I don't feel neglected either. I'm perfectly fine with how things are going.
I do wish that controls were not made complicated. "Is there a better or easier way to do this task?". I notice that even the guys and gals doing the Wednesday videos, will sometime have troubles with the controls.

As above, neglected is a strong word and I wouldn’t go that far.

Personally I think they are a victim of themselves in some respects and of high expectations from the community. I for one am more used to developers ditching games upon release and you just crack on accept it. However the community (whether you agree with the context) are extremely passionate and want the best from the game. That passion seems to manifest itself in over protective responses or threads / comments with high expectations. You only have to scan the forums and you see endless requests for more material. They simply cannot please everybody and some people will always feel left out. They are clearly still working on the game and still engaging with the community in other areas.

All that said, I do feel that there could be more activity from Frontier on these forums. As highlighted, replies and interaction is rather low and a simple daily or every other day check / reply to threads would alleviate some of frustrations. That includes some teasers about future content. A well hyped and happy community helps to attract further players which in turn grows the community further.

I don't feel neglected by the community -- all I have to do is post something about the game and several community members will respond, from simple disagreement on demonstratable issues to demeaningly dismissive derision. Neglect from the community isn't a problem, IMHO. Deliberate and malicious suppression, but not neglect.

Today's my birthday, a day I'd like spend a few enjoyable hours playing a game I bought and paid (and paid, and paid, and paid) for. Unfortunately, a bug introduced in 1.6.0, and still not fixed, makes the game practically unplayable for me. So although I feel my needs as a PlanCo customer are being neglected, that neglect is not from the community. [sulk]

I only wanted a small fix that allows us to send ONE car through a dark ride when using the Ghost Train. It always sends in 3 cars at a time, and that throws off the scares and gags in my dark rides.
I've messaged a few of the admins about it on the Planet Coaster facebook page, but they refer me to the "Suggestions" section on the forums. And that section is flooded with other things like bugs and bigger issues other people are having with the game.

I hope they announce a new major update to the game in the next few months with all the fixes people are asking for. Until then, I guess we have to cope.

Yes, I feel heavily neglected and I feel also a bit of buyer's remorse for having bought at full price not only the game, but also the main three DLCs, in their current state. The fact is that there are still too much little, but important enhancements, asked by a lot of players since the release of the game, that seems to be completely disregarded by the Devs.

Glaringly obvious as it was from those first three months, and frustrating as it was to watch these boards swimming in the fantasy of Planet Coaster the Glorious True Tycoon Sequel for that first year post-release, it's still disappointing to see that things have turned out pretty much exactly as expected.

Props to Frontier for recognizing the potential in disguising a community monetization program as a game, but I'd have preferred the actual game. Woe to all the suckers like me who paid extra for the privilege of 5 days of "beta" on top of it all and never even watched a stream[haha] Paid all that cash and wasn't even consuming the actual product being produced at the end of the day.

Unfortunately for Frontier they just played off the one IP they own that I have actual nostalgia for, so the cat on their whole early access ponzi scheme is well out the bag. Good luck to any of you hopping on the ol' Super Responsive Totally Serious Pre-Release Devs hype train for that Jurassic nonsense, hope you get your money's worth out of those live chats!
