The original Elite didn't have this much waiting doing nothing. Generally travel took only as long as it needed to.

In Frontier, travel could take long but you needed to understand a little bit of physics and there was interesting gameplay involved for those who liked that sort of thing. For those who didn't there was a skip button.

Thankfully I'll only have to wait about 6 more months before CQC arrives, then Elite becomes a full on arena shooter and I'll never need to SC again.

My iPad fits nicely between my HOTAS allowing me to browse the forums, research trade runs, lookup ships I can't afford and generally do stuff while I play. Does make me wonder what I'll do if I ever get a rift. The screen between the pilots knees needs to be usable

My laptop is always in front of me, whilst playing on the big screen, so i browse the forum, or check other online stuff, or even plan trade routes with external tools ect.
