Do you think FD will pull off planets with human life?

I have made it clear that I belive in FD.
But after going back and reading many of the system descriptions that mention incredible things such as : Floating cities that move around based on the seasons , some systems having unique monuments in there core cities , and of course references to the books like in children of zeus do you think we will see the ''natives'' or not?

I think FD will do random alien life fine , I think they will pull of real scale cities off without issue , I even think we will have humans walking around and so on.

But for some reason I fear they will just ignore the lore and let the system descriptions serve as massive plot holes and not include any of the features that mention in the descriptions.

And thats my issue , I dont know if I trust FD with the lore anymore , there are so many plot holes and other minor issues that I wonder if we risk having things like prisons actualy serving as a garage.
And on top of that there is the player submited GalNet news that add to the universe... well sins its on GalNet it means its canon , so will those things be in game on planets?

I do hope someone from FD can reassure me about all this , as I am getting very scared for no reason about the lore.

So , do you think they will pull it off?

the game will die before that ..too many bad decisions and a lack of money

I think they totally can. If a small startup like hello games can do it with NMS why not?

The malcontents will disagree, but then they always do. I wonder what they have created themselves that puts them in a position to be so critical of FD?

The only thing I can see that would prevent it is money.

Reminds me of the EVE forums at launch. it will die in a year they said.

I agree that they can do that bit , just if you read some of the system description and books they tell you whats down there and a lot of it is very out there.
Normaly I would belive they can pull it off but we have factions called ''elite game union'' that just kill the immersion every time I think about it , we have missing planets and some systems that dont match up with the books.
I would just love a bit of input from FD about this

The odds of FD getting populated planetary landings right is higher than the odds that SC comes out this year, but lower than the odds of there being another AI thread on the forums tomorrow.

in other words, somewhere between 0 - 100%

They got the surface (not counting gameplay) of airless worlds right , and they did it fine in elite 3.
I think they will have something impressive , and I think they have been working on it sins alpha

Plenty of games these days pull it off. Games like Skyrim, Elder Scrolls Online, Black Desert Online provide vast environments with NPCs milling about. So there's no doubt FD could pull it off if they choose. Looks at NMS for instance: life forms aren't human but it's a similar concept.

I believe they can do it. I just don't believe they can give the development sufficient time. This is because of all the other projects they are working on. Where Frontier development once were the leaders in procedural development, they are now followers. The smaller team at Hello Games will be first to market with the game "No Man's Sky" when it is released in August. While the humanoids are alien, they are bipedal and can communicate. There will also be many animal life forms to discover. Frontier Development never said we would exclusive development progress on Elite Dangerous. Things are already slipping and should the other games get popular, I fear less effort will be invested.

I think they'll do none of this and that development will gradually slow down until it reaches maintenance level in less than two years.

Maybe they could pull it off if they wanted, but only the technical part, I don't believe anymore FD would be capable of designing interesting gameplay around those features.

I think thats what will happen to NMS ,but not elite , I love what we have allready
