What exactly is so difficult about landing on a docking pad? Am I the only one who didn’t die on their first landing?
I've never died landing a ship in this game. I would venture to say neither have the majority of players who use the DC on a regular basis.
What folks like you never seem to understand in that it has nothing to do with piloting skills or any of that usually mentioned hogwash! I can land a Cutter faster than most players in this game. I find no pleasure in it though after 20-30 times in a row.
The DC does it better and more realistically than 99.9% of commanders in the game.
It also frees you up to grab a beer, take a pee or whatever while the DC handles the landing. And in 3304, no one would be manually landing huge ships like this single handed in the first place. Come on! For safety reasons alone it would be out of the question.
That for me is the primary reason I use the DC in nearly all my ships. Its just more realistic looking, and its landings look far more believable than the "Controlled Belly Flops" I see the majority of human pilots doing all over the place in Open.
If speed is your thing, and why you "think" manual landings are superior...
Manually fly the slot and then let the DC handle the touch down. You will be the first to touch down every single time against the majority of players landing manually.
I've been playing this game for over 3 years. The DC is working better in 3.0 than it ever has. Those who continue to diss its use are beyond clueless as this point.
