Does any relatively new player actually own an Anaconda right now?

When someone asks why we can't own capital ships, point them to this thread. That and the fact capital ships can't dock anywhere.

A capital ship shouldnt need to dock. People should come to you ^^

Its like you pull up outside a station and a greedy swarm of shuttles comes out to meet you to get your stuff and fulfil your every wish.

I believe trading is still the fastest way to make money, especially once trading with a Type 6 and higher. Don't know how you're making a few million a day on bounties though, I make at most around 70-80k per hour on a good day...

Personally, I find it pretty easy to rack up 70 - 80k in bounties in a few minutes if I'm farming Cobras in planetary rings. Cartel pirates spawn pretty frequently in them (and respawn, as far as I can tell), and they're usually worth anywhere from 10 - 30k per ship. I can melt them pretty quickly with my Viper. I'm just in my starting zone at LHS 3447, at that. It's definitely faster than any other method of bounty hunting (missions are horribly inefficient, including assassination contracts).

Anyway, maybe I'll just aspire toward a Python if I want a light carrier / gunboat.

You mix and match. First, there are systems where big hunter-killer contracts are plentiful - those that pay out 150+k credits for an elite anaconda kill. You need a kitted out Cobra to do these consistently and without undue fuss. And while doing those, you always look for those good trades to do on the side (pays for fuel and repair costs if nothing else) and of course, you pack an interdictor module and check out contacts in supercruise for medium-large ships. A wanted Python often nets you 80k alone, and that's a five minute fight. Naturally, always carry a kill warrant scanner, because you often end up adding a nice chunk on top of the local bounty.

Do that, and you can make a million in a few hours of playing. Plus it's more fun that sitting at navpoints all day long.

To answer the OP, you can see what player ships have visited a system you're in during the past 24 hours in the traffic report under the station news section. I think I saw around 5-6 Anacondas listed there already, so some players definitely have them.

Game has been out for six days, that's 144 hours. A new player would have needed to make 1.2 mil/hour to reach 170 mil, playing non stop. I call on any new player fielding an Anaconda.

I doubt any new player even has a Python.

I started in gamma, did some rare trading before the nerf and still now earn at a reasonable rate, and I still only have ~40 mill in assets.

Can play 30 minutes a day and not every day. I just made enough money to buy a hauler. Hope I can now make some money for a cobra. That should takes me weeks at the same time I did until now. Hope I don't get bored before I can make it

Some of us had a few weeks headstart with Gamma.

Well, i wouldn't have called that ''relatively new'' players. We already know there are gamma players with anacondas. Gamma players are ppl who started on day 1 after the last wipe, they are the oldest players in terms of current progression.

Just saying there are players with Anacondas. Not necessarily new players. ;)

Well some of the gamma players didn't play much due to an uncertain wipe... needless to say, we're not far ahead of the newbies with the exception of experience.

Well, I made it in three nights to almost 60.000 ... considering to buy a Hauler now as soon as I figure out the internal mounts / equipment system.
