Here's what I do to make it fully automatic. Like this, it will do the scans while you're fighting, and it'll scan any ship that's in the middle part of your windscreen.
1.You should put it on your secondary trigger and have it in all fire-groups. If you want to use different weapons, put them all on the primary trigger and use fire-groups to change from one to the other.
2. Asiign trigger 2 to any switch or button that stays on. If you have something like an X52, that can be the slider or one of the rotational knobs. If you don't have anything like that, then assign it to the "-" key on the top right of the keyboad and put a weight on it.
3. As soon as you get to the combat arena (normally RES or CNB), sitch it on and leave it on. It used to be that if you changed instance thereafter, you had to reset it, but I've noticed recently that I didn't have to do that anymore. If it stops working, just switch it off and on again. be aware that if you use the comms panel and you have it assigned to the "-" key, it'll immediately start typing ----------------------, so you have to switch it off for comms then back on again afterwards.
That's it. You get about 20% extra bounty money at the local station. The rest (10%) you get from any Interstellar factor that you find at a station in a low security system. If you fam bounties in Gende, many of the KWS bounties are from a faction that has control of the station where the nearest IF is, so you can collect te money from them, then the rest from the IF. I don't know whether that's just a local anomoly or whether that's common. Wait until you have at least 10 mil in accumulated bounties before you go to the IF to make it worthwhile.
