Does anyone else not really want a temperate pack?

So seeing people say we don’t have a lot of scenery themes left leaves me wondering if anyone would care if the last 2 DLCs or all of the 2024 packs be animal packs?

I think it's not impossible, but unlikely. Right now we have 9 Scenery packs and 5 animal Pack. I do think if we just have 2 more packs left, there's a greater chance of that happening than another 6 packs of animal packs. but, if we do have 6 packs left, maybe 4 of them could be animal packs rather than 3.

It was really by conservation/ twilight I was pretty satisfied with the amount of scenery items added, tropical added a nice niche island theme into the game. I would love if all dlcs left were animal packs with any scenery directed to foliage. Sure decorations and one or 2 themes each person wants but I feel now that there are 2 noticeable gaps in the game - animals (each person has their respectable wishes) and a general diversity in foliage especially regarding tundra and tropical.

Personally with my skillset, there isn't a theme I can think of I can't build with the very extensive scenery item catalogue. Sure certain themes requires a large amount of pieces to do justice or may look rusty around the edges but nothing as dramatic as many people like to paint the picture.

Completely agree about the tundra foliage. I think I’m satisfied with the tropical foliage when we got the tropical pack with the new ferns. But if we get a mountains animal pack I would definitely appreciate some new temperaye foliage.

With the animals, I think the main categories we’re missing are birds (habitat) and monkeys, anything else is like you said, tailored to a what the specific person wants.

There is no way Frontier stop making scenery packs. First of all, builders make a large part of the player base and they already only get 2 DLC a year compared to people who prefer new animals. Also, getting a year of all animal packs compared to what we have currently wouldn't really add THAT much. We'd get 5 more animals a year on average but at the loss of about 400-500 new scenery pieces, I don't think it balances out to be honest. Plus, there is still a ton of cool scenery packs they could add.

The armadillo, capuchin monkey, dwarf caiman, jaguar, llama, puma, Baird's tapir, raccoon and sea lion are also found in South/Central America and they all have the temperate biome in game, so if we get a temperate pack, maybe Frontier could fit in another animal also living in this region. Do you think a howler or spider monkey or the coati could get the temperate biome?

If we got all animal packs we would get an additional 12 habitat animals, not 5. I know it’s unlikely for them to do but I was mainly asking if anyone would mind if they did do that. Other than temperate scenery and maybe Latin america i can’t think of any more scenery themes.

Seeing how the tropical pack still introduced some unique and usefull stuff i would be pretty sad if that was the last scenery we ever got

Mediterranean, Polynesian, Farmyard, maybe even a Futuristic scenery. There is still quite a lot to draw from.

I'm not really a fan of the idea of a Temperate Pack. I don't really want the boar and the devil is not high on my list tbh. I'm honestly just crossing my fingers for Highlands/Mountains/Alpine Animal Pack in December.

Oh wow! This has really blown up! Here are my thoughts on tjis and what I think the most likely packs are for the rest of 2023, because 2024 is still uncertain ATM.

Themes people want for DLCs:

Flying Birds/Avian (#1)

Temperate (#2)

Mountain (#3)

South America 2.0 (#4)

Aquariums (#5)

Farm/Domestic/Children’s Zoo (#6)

Pros and Cons of each pack:

Flying Birds

Pros:
. Brings much wanted animals to the game
. Probably new building materials
. Brings a new way of building

Cons:
. Requires a lot of animation and rigging
. A lot Of work for Frontier

Temperate

Pros:
. Contains Devil (#1 on wishlist)
. Possible new scenery

Cons:
. Doesn’t bring a lot of new stuff to the game
. Only has 1 highly requested animal
. Devil is very uncommon in zoos outside of Australia

Mountain

Pros:
. Has a lot of animals fairly high on the wishlist ( Wolverine, Takin, Etc)
. Could contain new plants
. Would probably only require one new rig (Wolverine)

Cons:
. Not the most hyped up

South America 2.0

Pros:
. Contains highly-voted animals (Coati, Ocelot, New world primates)
. Could contain Latin America architecture, our only missing set in the game
. Fills the underrepresented group of New World Monkeys

Cons:
. Might not sell well
. Requires new rigs for some animals

Farm/Children’s zoo/Domestic

Pros:
. Includes unique animal species (Mara, Domestics, Rhea)
. Could bring farm scenery
. Matches the fall ‘Harvest Season’

Cons:
. Not very popular

Aquariums

Pros:
. Brings new unique animals (fish, manatees, dolphins, etc)
. Brings new way of building
. Brings possible new scenery

Cons:
. Requires lots of new rigs
. Requires new water system
. Requires new building system

Judging by the pros and cons, I think we have a good chance at a mountain pack and South America pack, also the temperate even though I don’t want it that much, and might get a domestic/farm/children’s zoo pack, and probably won’t get aviaries or aquariums though they would be really awesome for the game.

True, but a temperate pack could bring more realistic pieces, for example better wooden logs with detailed moss and textures, which would definitely be useful at least for me. If you’re talking about the animals then yeah, wouldn’t be anything super fresh and new other than devil.
Would probably only require one new rig (Wolverine)
If we got a Baboon in this pack it would probably need a couple new animations.
Requires new rigs for some animals
The Coati could go off of the Fossa, and the Ocelot is just a smaller Jaguar rig. The monkeys would probably need new rigs though, especially if they choose something like the Spider Monkey.
Includes unique animal species (Mara, Domestics, Rhea)
For me they wouldn’t be too unique, unless we get things like Bunnies. Rhea is just a variant of the Ostrich and if we get things like Shetland Pony or Goats they would just be clones of things we already have. The Mara would be the only unique one but that’s just me.
