Does NOT repairing the paintwork have any visible effect ?

Before I hit the "Repair All" by accident, my paint was down to about 2%. Visible effect in the outfitting screen, no more than half a dozen immediately visible areas of flaked paint. I will admit, I wasn't particularly looking for dirt, but I don't know much would have shown against "Doppelganger"s black paint job.
Really hope to see more when I finally get to go to Sag A* later this month. [That'll be in a white one at least, might see more dirt and wear after that trip!]

I was deliberately trying to achieve a battered paint look by fixing everything else separately but it became too much like hard work and I resorted to the repair all button.

I've wanted to do the same, but have also given up. IMHO "repair all" should not extend to the paint. Instead "repair paint" should be removed from the detailed menu of options and be placed alongside "repair all" so that hull/modules can be repaired without touching the paint.

If you want to wear out the paint simply fly about 1.5 million LS in super cruise. Either in one go or in stages. Paint will be at zero after that as will hull integrity.

I didn't really notice how much the paint on my Asp had degraded in the last few months exploring - until I logged into Beta 1.3 for the first time, and went to the outfitting screen. The super clean white paintjob on my Asp just about burnt my retinas out.
