Does this game have a future?

Please read the last five years of the Elite Forums. :)

I wasn't talking of anything that wasn't JWE. Not really interested in any other game, really :)

mainstream game developer companies generally stay silent on so many things for very good reasons, even if they might not seem fair for some.

Blizzard, for instance, doesn't seem to be so secretive and is far more talkative than most. They certainly answer questions with more than cookie-cutter replies, most of the time.

Yet, I disagree with being silent being the best option: while it is true that our hype runs always high with this game, I think it would be a whole lot better to know at least the master lines of what to expect, if only to not collect disappointment after disappointment.

To clarify, I meant on certain things (not everything) in the video game industry environment. Most of the things that are stayed silent about on are mostly because of either laws or unspoken rules.

I had a look at the steam charts, they don't look good. (Picture Attached).

This is usually the point where games die. Why isn't Frontier dramatically changing its direction? I really want to see this game do well but I fear it might be too late..

honestly this summer update better be an enormous terrain/decor pack. Depending on the quality of that update alone it will be their last stand. Its already painful enough that the update this month (the first in a long time) will be something small and stupid so we have to wait even longer. I probably will never buy a game from frontier again if this is the amount of effort and depth they put into their products.

Well really the thing about PK is it could be amazing, the idea behind the game sounds like the potential to be the best in its genre. And there's no doubt there is actual legit attempt to make a great game than there was behind Mesozoica.

I'm only trying to get the point across, you know, when we are dealing with what is an inexperienced indie project that will take 5+ years to hit an early access release, that's far from a guarantee of all this. Gotta keep that in mind even with how it looks. And I believe there is a good chance, say a year from now, PK and JWE may just be two very different types of games without being superior to one another.

It all depends how well they are able to execute and whether you are going for more standard formula zoo sim games.
