Game Discussions Dog's Life Ps4/Ps5

"Hi, as you will see from the title, I am a Former Dog's Life Player. As a child I played it countless times on Playstation 2, and it was one of my favorite games. I loved Jake's adventures to rescue Daisy and would love to be able to play them again on next generation consoles. So, I wanted to ask the developers of this old game, would it be possible to remaster it to fit the Playstation 4 and Playstation 5 technology? I think it's a doable thing, because Rockstar, another video game house, did the same with three of their old Grand Theft Auto that ran on Playstation 2, so why not do it with Dog's Life too? I don't know how successful it was as a game in the Past, but if you repurposed it, remastered, I would buy it, because, really, as a game, I loved and loved it, I lost count of all the times I started it, finished and then started again, as much as I liked".

I am not sure they will ever remaster Dog's Life, one, and two, this is really not the right section of the forum to ask that.
I wrote here, because I was told by the Frontier just (I also contacted them), to write on the Forum ... I had contacted them from a Form on the site and they told me that they could not forward to whoever is competent, why not it was possible for him. Therefore, today they sent me an email, telling me to ask here, why the Forum is also checked by those who deal with these things.

Check the link below, I would scroll all the way down, to Off-Topic. You might be luckier asking in Games By Frontier Developments section or General Gaming Discussion.

I am sorry I couldn't reply in Italian, I can read, but not really write it. Good luck!

I have moved this to general forum for 'other' games by Frontier as you had posted in a dedicated Elite Dangerous forum.

Also, could you please provide a translation to English for your post? We do ask that posts on the main forums are made in English.

I had written it in English ... It appears translated to me, but I had written it in English. Thanks anyway for your reply and if you can kindly make the switch with this version, which is in English, you would do me a favor. This, however, is what I wrote:

Thank you, anyway, and don't worry if you don't know how to write it, I also in English, I can't manage at all ... make a speech.

Thanks for the translation. Although then, to Ian Phillips, above, I also rewrote it for him.

While yes, a remaster or sequel to Dog's Life won't be impossible to happen, it isn't very likely it will happen, and I don't really expect to see one of these come out anytime soon. It would be nice though and would be cool to see how the game could be with today's technology.

But in fact, it's feasible, it's not impossible, otherwise Rockstar wouldn't have done it, with its Grand Theft Auto running on Playstation 2. Also, Bandai Namco Entertainment did it with its own game running on PS. Life. I thought it was not possible, but many have taken old games that ran on previous platforms to the current ones, and adapted and remastered them to make them playable on new generation consoles.

One obstacle with creating another Dog's Life game is that Sony (SCEE) is the company that actually owns the rights to Dog's Life. Frontier Developments only really developed the game and they don't really have the rights entirely to Dog's Life, so they would need permission from Sony to create a sequel or remaster.

Dog's Life was fun. I bought it for my daughter when she was like 6 and I ended up playing more than her
Just think what a coincidence, even my father bought it for me when I was about that age and he was understanding us more than me. Even my mother, who wasn't very technological, was able to do things that I couldn't. Saving Daisy was torture too, before I figured out how to shut down all those machines, but then I did. It took her a long time, but one day I made it. However, even though it took me a while, then I understood the mechanics of the game and started, finished and restarted it a lot of times.

Oh really? I didn't know about this detail, it would be great if Frontier Developments would ask Sony for this permission. We hope that our requests can arrive, also because, as I said, I would like it so much.

Google translate works very well !
Yes I know. It works very well, but does not always translate correctly, however, oh well, those who are native speakers of a language, even if it is poorly written or not very well, understand the same. This is why I communicate through the translator. I know English, but too little to be able to make long sentences, descriptions and speeches.

A port of Dog's Life or remaster would probably be possible, Frontier Developments still has the old code and assets. The game is written in C++ and Frontier's proprietary engine/scripting language (FGDK3). It is able to run on PC/x86 as development pc builds do exist. The main barrier stopping Frontier from porting the game is that Sony Computer Entertainment Europe owns the rights to the game and FDEV would need permission from SCEE to do such.
