Doing what I set out to do

Learned a valuable lesson when trying to navigate back to the Galaxy... write down how you got out there!

Had a few worrying moments trying to find the systems I used to get out in the first place but am now back in the main body and restocking on the materials I used to get out. Might go a little further east first. I swear I remember seeing some large groups of stars outside of normal jump range last time.

Or just install an app that'll write it down for you. I recommend this one and not just because I help develop it...

I tried to get that installed and E: D wouldn't even start after I edited the .ini file. Might have another go though as it would be invaluable. I didn't realise just how far out I'd got - needed 3 x standard and 2 x premium to get out to that system (including a short bridge of 3 systems that were non-boosted jumps apart)

I will admit I was disappointed that there were no planets in those furthest systems, just one primary star in each.

You gonna come back a reaver now that you've stared into it?

Not sure my top hat would fit in the bridge :)

In these situations I check the neighboring systems and whether the system map is available. This way I can see where I came from.

Not quite sure if I've managed to convey just how lonely it is.... the systems are there, they're just very hard to find on the Galmap as they are so very far apart. You have to use boost route plotting to find ANY of them and in one case, that wouldn't even work as I'd completed a half tank, premium boost jump that simply could not be shown as a route.

I've turned around and am heading back to Beagle Point to meet with Jaques when he gets there, but I'll leave this for the moment with a few pictures:

This is where I got to in the Galaxy when at my most extreme point:

The Galaxies largest snowball clearly impacted here. The planet was 4 times Earth sized and actually an ice planet.... the crater was massive.
