This game I predict will be a solid seller and will grow by word of mouth and via social networks. It will reinvigorate the pc gaming industry which has suffered with the dominance of gaming consoles and really spark off VR hardware and how it can play a big part of a gaming experience. I gave up playing consoles as I got older and the games became more and more unoriginal. Part of the fun from the original C64, BBC, Spectrum computers, was the originality of some of the games.

I can also see this game continuing for several years once it's built up a big enough user base and could continue to be expanded / improved.

Played the original to death when I was young, got to Elite, loved it and looking forward to playing the Mac version.....only difficulty is have to wait

I predict ED will not sell that well when it is first released.

This will be mainly because people will want to have the full package of free movement(your ship, planets, stations). I certainly won't be getting it for this very reason.

Just make sure you ship the free movement expansion soon.

why exactly do people keep talking about an expansion for a game that is not even close to release, but speculating about an expansion which is not even sure to ever happen according to the developers very own newsletter?

and everyone knows space sims don´t sell well, what else is new? Want mass market make a new Battlefield or Fantasy RPG

I've got a sneaky suspicion that E: D will actually sell better than expected.

It will if I have anything to say about it! And hopefully I do, as I'm a games writer and long time space game fan .
