Nicely sums up my experience as well. It is strange, there come that moment when it all clicks and you realize just how great it is, even with it's flaws. You just can't beat it and it always keeps me coming back for more. I may have some issues myself but every new game I've played I always end up coming back to elite at the end of the day. When I'm stuck on what to else to play, Elite is there to save me. Yes, I can get bored after a few hours but I do that with every game but not every game I play everday, unlike elite, which usually gets at least 5 hours a day no matter what. For 2 years straight, can't say that much about anything these days.

I gave my review on steam soon after launch. I mostly stand by what i put, tho would lower the score a little bit now...... not because of any bad feeling on my part but because subjectively I think the game is actually less enjoyable now than it was at launch :/
still I would give a solid 8/10 - worth a look but do your homework 1st score.

I thought you weren't allowed to use Steam? Everyone just uses the launcher, not Steam. So most of you can't log into Steam to write a review as you don't use Steam you use the launcher. Remember, all the times you've said to ignore the Steam stats because no one uses Steam, they all use the launcher, Remember? REMEMBER?????

Some players do - hence the Steam stats. There's no requirement to do so though, or do so consistently.
You must not have seen the many assertions that people don't use Steam they only use the Launcher whenever steam stats are discussed.
If people don't use Steam they use the launcher they can't log onto Steam to leave a review.
Sure they could register their steam key for the game on Steam just for the purposes of leaving a review but why bother? No one uses Steam, they use the launcher!
i dont use steam..... well, i clearly HAVE used steam at some point to get my recorded 400hrs or what ever in..... but over 1000hrs have been outside of steam.
Yeah but most players don't use steam they use the launcher. It was stated clearly in a number of threads discussing the declining steam stats. The steam stats are meaningless according to those posts because people don't use steam they use the launcher. So if you used Steam when you should have only been using the launcher like a good ED fan then shame on you ;P

Flew 30,000 lightyears scanning everything in sight.
Decided it was time to turn in my exploration data credits and buy a real ship!
Flew back to populated space and requested docking at a station
30 feet from landing pad and I was rammed and killed by no one other than Harry Potter himself
Everything lost
10/10 -- ... And a new HOTAS
