I had just 2 goals to achieve before the release of 2.4.

And I've failed then both. Lol

1. Unlock the Federal Corvette. I still have 42% to go. Lol

2. Get hyperdicted by a Thargoid. Didn't manage to trigger it once, in over 9 months.
That's some tough RNG there. Lol
I didn't see any surface Thargoids either.

I'm a failure!

Oh well. :D

Back to work I go!

Mine was to get an FDL an Engineer it. All was going well until that nasty Bill Turner wanted 50 tones of Bromellite in a permit system to boot.

I am 11 tons short. Will get that in 30 mins after my PC has finished the download by December.

lol. i eventually got interdicted twice in five min and that was that, never happened again. i also never seen a surface thargoid ;(

winter is here.

My goals were to reach Elite in combat and get interdicted by the Thargoids.
Failed the first, still stuck at 85% Deadly but i finally got interdicted on Sunday evening in the Pleiades much to my and my six year old sons delight.

It really wasn't that much fun. lol. I got hit once, I might have been one of the first. Never did alter my playstyle, did the same thing I always did, never got hit again. It is something of a 'wth?' moment when it happens. Expensive, too. :p

I had the same goal too. You got a bit further than I did. I ran out of steam after getting 10% past Post Captain. Realized I was getting into a grind rut with it. So I took a look at doing some other activities to get out of it. I could grind for money, or grind for combat ranks, or grind for engineer mods, or grind some CGs. So I chose to play XCOM 2 instead ;)

I still need to buy XCOM 2. Lol
And Planet Coaster.

And about 30 other games that are on my wishlist, gathering dust, because I've been playing ED for 2 years. Lol
(And I'm poor, and my old GPU couldn't cope with anything new, but I got a new one now. Yay!)

I haven't actually been "grinding" the rank, sure, I've been doing loads of missions, but only if they're fun, or convenient (like donation or data going the same way).
It's been fun, but I have actually gotten bored of the missions. We need more. Loads more. Lol

My Corvette goal is now my "if I get bored of the aliens, or need more pew pew for the aliens" goal. Lol

I have no idea how the new alien content is going to play out, so I've scrapped my hyperdiction goal.

God, I'd have gladly traded your experience with mine. When the hyperdiction thing first started happening, I got stuck in a system because every time I went to wake out, I'd get hyperdicted. I'd say, conservatively, it happened around 15 times for me in the span of about 4 hours. I was absolutely sick of it.
