Dove Enigma UA bombed, preventing completion of its voyage in time for the man it was named for.

But its not about him, but about forum warriors howling for divine intervention so they can feel good. Instead of actually doing something themselves.

The whole "dying commander" issue falls apart when people are not willing to actuaöly do something against the UA bombing and instead pose on the forum filled with righteous wrath.

Waves of Commanders are heading to the bubble to collect meta alloys and back to deliver.

Your prophetic, omnipotent wisdom on how people should handle a crisis is heartwarming. I really am disgusted by yours and everyone else who shares your attitude on this.

Have you ever dealt with people like this in game? Sounds like you haven't. It is impossible to take revenge/retribution on a player that will Combat Log at the drop of a hat.

You think they are going to sit around as 30 ships armed to the teeth jump in on them and start unloading?

Get real! We are talking about COWARDS here. They don't obey any rules, or follow any code of ethics. In the real world, a broken jaw is what many end up getting, or worse. At least that is how this kind of stuff use to be dealt with. ;)

Alright, I'm temporarily suspending a BGS operation I'm involved in and am moving to deliver 52 tons of Meta-Alloys to Dove's Enigma as soon as possible. I wish it could be more, but this caught me at a transition point in my fleet. I've also passed the word along to some other people I think might be interested in helping.

And people still get upset when I say that in-game actions matter. The same people who argue that allegedly in-game anything goes (cause lulz) and that these virtual actions don't mean anything about the person behind the keyboard...[uhh]

Don't ask FDev to fix it!!

This is a rare opportunity for emergent gameplay. Get out there and fix it then work out who's going to fly as an escort to it's final destination?

Wouldn't the correct amount of cargo need to be delivered to Colonia by Thursday the latest? How many MA's does it take to reverse the effects?

I see Smiling Dog Clueless are out in full effect today..

I've asked for support for this from my Wing. I'm not able personally to help at the moment but I hope some of the other Silverbacks will head that direction.

I don't really think I or anyone was required to google it at all. Are we required to conduct due diligence on all stations before docking with them? As it was the link you posted was below a link for Roja Parfums and offscreen on my PC. I think I googled enough.

This is besides the point, IMO being given a fully playable in game asset is a great tribute and memorial as it will remain alive in the game for people to enjoy, fight over, UA bomb, repair and do all the things our lost friend probably enjoyed doing himself.

Every time this station gets, bombed or whatever people will remember CMDR DoveEnigma13, which I think IS the point.

Whenever people suggest that the majority of muppetry in-game is the result of "role-playing", something like this happens to remind you that some people are simply first-rate tossers. [sad]

VR enhancement devices that deliver kinetic energy via electric shocks can't come soon enough.

As despicable as this act is, you're right. It's part of the game and fdev shouldn't do a thing about it. If the community wants to have a special event in an open world game then they're going to have to protect that event too. I mean, how is this not expected? You guys haven't seen the griefers ruin any event or live stream they come across? Solome' anyone?
Key difference is, Salami was a made up fictional character. This event was made so that a human being sufferring from a terminal form of cancer can go to Colonia and have a bit of fun with friends before the cancer claims their life. Let's not forget here that it's just a video game, at the end of the day the devs can and should do everything they can to make this event happen for the sake of fulfilling a real life human being's last wishes.

Probably would need to be delivered by Monday night to proactively prevent a shutdown. If that's not done, re-opening is also assessed weekly.

As far as how many goes:
- MAs delivered before the next weekly update (generally Tuesday, not Thursday, for UA damage) are more effective per tonne than ones delivered after the station goes offline.
- How many are needed will probably depend on how many UAs were originally delivered.
- Surplus MAs won't hurt and may provide resistance against future attempts.

As someone who engaged in quite a bit of debate regarding the ethical implications of doing in-game "bad stuff" my take is: for a case like this one, the obvious fact that it's a vile, attention-seeking, immature, and despicable act is frankly beyond debate.

As a matter of fact, it's useful to see those who are already crawling out of their trollcaves and use this occasion to defend it or to find it amusing. A good occasion for the community to weed them out.
