Ok now I'm officially jealous.
Sorry for asking, but where is this?

That's the Mokulua Islands off of Lanikai Beach, on Oahu in Hawai'i.
It's right by where former president Obama stays when he's on island.
We're about 30 mins from downtown Honolulu and all the madness.

It's a nice swim to/from the islands but almost no one swims it anymore because of a fairly recent shark attack.


Popoia, or Flat Island is much closer to shore(~400M) and close to the same area.
Very popular surfing spot with the young ladies...

I've paddled my surfboard from shore, to Popoia, to the Mokuluas, back to Popoia and to shore.
That's about 7 miles r/t iirc.

You can stop by Buzz's Steakhouse after a day in the ocean and have one (or more, but there's a limit of 3 iirc) of their BFRDs (Big Rum Drink) and a grilled steak or some fresh fish.

I'm with the other 90% of the people on Oahu, where Honolulu is.
The eruptions are a ways to the east on Hawai'i island, and on the far eastern side.

We'll might get some nasty "vog" depending on the wind, and some nice sunsets.
