Drew Wagar’s Reclamation and Premonition

There are a number of books written in the Elite Dangerous universes two of them are written by Drew Wagar Reclamation and Premonition.
Reclamation is the first book about senator Kahina Loren/ Salomé with some mention of the Formidine rift mystery, it’s a very good book sci-fi book even if you don’t play Elite.
Reclamation is in book form and audible format, available from Audible, I really enjoyed the Audible version and is very well done.
Not having much free time, I do my reading/listening while driving, I would rather be playing Elite Dangerous with any free time.
Now Premonition is not available in Audible format, after getting in touch with Drew Wagar I found out that Frontier has control on the book and there is no plans to do an Audible format now.
Come-on Frontier let’s get on the stick and plan to release Premonition to Audible…..

There probably has to be demand for it and given Frontier have more and less abandoned any of the story thread Drew started I imagine its not a priority.

Lazy fraks - just read Premonition. TBH although IMWO it's not as good as Reclamation, Premonition will bring you up-to-date with where Elite Dangerous is, though maybe it's a little niche/clique-y/self defeating in that respect so maybe (your esteemed selves aside) there isn't the demand for an audible version...

If I remember rightly Drew stated on his blog that FDEV had pretty much dumped on all his ideas and treated him like poop.

Which is why he quit working with them.

Sad really, their narrative since has been really bad. Not Love Island bad, but not far short.

I would assume that he has the many of the rights to the works and it would need to be him that would decide to put it to audio.

I don't think that it's a coincidence that the narrative that Drew worked on was dumped around the same time that mike left to work on JP.

I don't think it was FDev that caused Drew to move on, more like the gratuitous over reaction to the in-game event he organised.

Have read both books and agree that they're really good. Though I enjoyed Reclamation a bit more, as it was written in a clearer, less fractioned way. Don't know about audio versions, I usually like to hear my own music while reading.

First off, I highly recommend Reclamation in book or audiobook form if you play Elite Dangerous or like Sic-Fi story’s.
Drew Wagar created great game lore and captivating story line something Frontier has struggled at.
Case in point Aisling Duval wedding, what a mess.

I spend at least 2 hours a day in a car that’s 10 hours a week and find Audible a great way to commute, I have finished all RR Martin’s Game of Thrones,
Harry Potter and Stephen King, I find audiobooks very enjoyable. Most books are now offered in audiobook format the same time of books printed release.

I asked Mr. Wagar about Premonition, He said that because Frontier published Premonition they have control if the book goes onto Audiobook format
and they don’t have any plans to do so at this time. The first book Reclamation was read by Toby Longworth and he did an amazing job,
he has done well over 100 books and brings books to life with his reading. Hopping he gets to do Premonition

Whatever happens, it’s clear that Frontier can use help on creating interesting cohesive story lines. Right now,
the Thargoid/Guardians story line is flopping around like a fish out of water. But the Salomé / Formidine rift mystery
has brought intrigue and conspiracy theories to Elite that makes the game a lot more interesting.

I’ve had Premonition since like forever. Even printed the whole thing out.
Still sits unfinished. And yet I’m a total lore junkie.

I dunno, the writing isn’t truly awful, I’ve certainly read worse, but whenever I crack the spine on it, I find myself rolling over and dozing off.
