Drive By Shooter

Right now, since I recently returned from a month journey out to the black, I've been experimenting on making a PvP build for my iCourier. I've never done PvP before, but I thought that since it's a very fast and maneuverable ship, torpedoes with reverb cascade would be a decent choice. Turns out, there aren't nearly enough hard points on this thing to make that even slightly viable without being in a wing. So, I want to try out a setup with 3 railguns with super penetrator, but I'm not sure if it'll work. If anybody knows of any build like that that functions well in PvP combat or at least can hold up itself in a fight, I'd love to see that. Cheers!
 
Well, as I said in the original post, I've noticed that when I use torpedoes, it takes the first volley on smaller ships and two volleys on bigger ships just to knock out the shields, which would be fine on any ship but the courier, since the courier only has 3 hard points and would probably run out of ammo pretty quickly before taking out the enemy's hull

4 torps will knock off most shields.
a dumbfire with penetrator is enough to kill drives, pp, fsd

ah, and you can drive it 2-4-0 or 4-2-0 - you dont need wep pips for rockets
 
I guess I'll try it out with a dumb fire then. I've been running with all hard points as torps which really didn't work so hot
 
Actually, now that I've given it a bit more thought, I still don't want to run torpedoes on this thing. Not because I think they're weak, because if anything they're nearly overpowered, but I hate the fast that 1) They lock on to their target so it's nearly impossible to miss, and 2) You can't fire until they're locked on, which means that occasionally you'll miss the perfect opportunity because you can't fire. Do there happen to be any other viable weapons to use or just torpedoes and missiles?
 
cytos and rails/missiles
frags with 2x incendiary and 1x corrosive
flechettes as in the movie above and rail/missiles

not too many options.

anti-modules you can also use fixed short range cannons - they are still devastating against modules, but for way less pp/pd
 
I think I'll try the flechettes, they look fun. Not really a great pilot myself, but I'm going to practice a ton on NPCs and do a lot of training to get myself to at least a decent level
