Drunk Driving - Robust Asp X Explorer Build

Ok, I'm caving into the pressure and switching around my Fuel Scoop and AFMU. I'v also dropped my 5A thrusters to 5D but I am concerned that this will mean less thrust to escape a dodgy landing.

The remaining question is about the HRP. Do they or do they not protect my hull? I Think I'll ask this in the main forum too.

ask it - here is a statement of someone with some experience:

Good post!!

One thing: do we know for sure that the increased hit points for hull and power plant actually have any benefit from crash or heat damage?

Afaik, both of those are straight up % calculations. Which is why military or reactive bulkheads don't reduce collision damage at all. These hit points are only taken into account when in combat. So lightweight armor is always better for natural situations. Same for modules/heat afaik.

yes - on the other hand, a pilot error like using downward thrust or accelerating downwards will also have less of an effect. and your ship will run cooler above high G surfaces....

Thank you for your input Geomon, I always appreciate your view on things. I feel the same and that is why I am sticking with 5D thrusters.

On the HRP thing though, I cannot believe that they would only be effective in combat. That would be particularly pants. (For our US cousins, Pants = under garments worn by males under their trousers and are usually smelly and therefore are rubbish [trash])

So here she is, turns out I have a gold paint job for her. Not sure where that came from but it suits her.
