Operation Autumn Squirrel Expedition
"Like Squirrels gathering nuts in their nests to prepare for winter..."

What are we doing?
Explorers old and new, miners, scouts, and spreadsheet titans alike from the Buur Pit Community are deploying a carrier in the name of the Deep Space Support Array!

The team intends to deploy the DSSA Buurian Anchorage to the Dryau Awesomes, and to establish the vessel as a permanent safe haven and Tritium Fuel Depot for all travelers passing by above the galactic plane!

Flight path overview.png

Do we want you?
We absolutely do want you on the team! We are accepting any and all who wish to participate in any way. We need miners, scouts, and those just wishing to hitch a ride to enjoy the sights are welcome as well!

How are we doing the thing?
In a nutshell, we are deploying the carrier from the Buurian Protectorate home system of Tewanta, to the Dryau Awesomes (Dryau Ausms KG-Y e3390).

The entire trip will be one very large logistical operation as well as a grand sightseeing tour!

We will be traveling along an 8-Waypoint itinerary! Along the way, we will be stopping at visually spectacular systems.

You may find our fleet carrier jump schedule and full itinerary, here!

Mining and Scouting Operations
Waypoint systems will see scouting and mining operations going on to keep the carrier's tritium reserves topped up.

The scouts support the miners, and the miners support the carriers!

Upon Arrival at our Destination
Once we arrive at the Awesomes, the scouting wing will set out to find tritium hotspots.

The Buur Pit Mining Company Corps of Cartographers (BPM3C) will get to work once mining locations are found, to create Tritium maps in the surrounding systems.

The ultimate goal once we arrive is to set up a potential tritium supply line to the Buurian Anchorage for future fueling operations.

Future Tritium maps will also be open source, and available to all people passing by wishing to mine for their own tritium fuel.

If this sounds like the style of expedition for you, please have a look at the mission briefing document for a fully detailed outline of what we are doing!

This sounds like fun, but are you going to leave me stranded out there?
No! The BPS Buurian Reflux will be traveling with us the entire way!

After our mission is complete, the Reflux will be departing for Colonia to provide an opportunity for commanders to unlock the Engineers and pin bluebrints. After a short time, the Reflux will throw everyone back up to the bubble!

Fleetcarrier.space Calendar View
EDSM Expedition Page

*ALL JUMP TIMES WILL BE OCCURRING DURING US CENTRAL TIMEZONE, -5UTC!!!

*We will be averaging two waypoints per week: one midweek, one weekend. The Anchorage and the Reflux will arrive a day early to account as best as possible for timezone differences.

*While pilots are most welcome to park up on board while the carriers jump, pilots are highly encouraged to fly solo between waypoints for the exploration experience!!

WAYPOINT 1 | TEWANTA

The home of the Buurian Protectorate. It is here the DSSA Buurian Anchorage and BPS Buurian Reflux will fuel up and depart.

DEPARTURE DATE: Sun, 28 JUN 3306, Launch event to occur at 1800 UTC.
wilson port jpg.jpg
WAYPOINT 2 | LABIRINTO
Distance Traveled: 4086 LY

A huge labyrinth of deep foggy canyons. Perfect for the canyon runner, spelunker, or the surface explorer who enjoys a good challenge.

ARRIVAL: Mon, 29 Jun, Evening -5 UTC

DEPART: Wed, 1 Jul, Evening -5 UTC
lab forums jpg.jpg
WAYPOINT 3 | THE ARKGAMANON MOUNTAIN RANGE
Distance Traveled: 2004 LY

A rather eerie mountain range shrouded in dim light. Peaks extend over 20 KM, and many are flat enough to land large vessels on top for a great overview!

ARRIVAL: Thurs, 2 Jul, Evening -5 UTC

DEPART: Sun, 5 Jul, Evening -5 UTC
ark forums jpg.jpg
WAYPOINT 4 | LAIR OF UNICORNS
Distance Traveled: 4233 LY

Special Notice:
1A AND 1B MOON COLLISION EXPECTED AT 0445 UTC 9 JUL, as predicted by fleet scientists, CMDRs Isaac Winsor and Waltzinmouse. Approx 31 hours from present time.

We have moved the vessel to body 1A to observe gravimetric effects from moon collsion with 1B. Please base yourself out of the BPS Buurian Reflux if you do not wish to observe from a close range.

Please be on board the Anchorage, or nearby the moons if you wish to observe. Advise: be in system one hour before estimated time to account for errors and to ensure you will see the collision.

As a result of this rare chance to observe a potential collision, Autumn Squirrel flight coordinators have decided to delay all departures by 24 hours. Thank you for your patience.

The Buurian Anchorage will remain in orbit of 1A until departure.

*NEW DEPARTURE 10 JUL 0130 UTC, Waypoint 5 Synookio EI-J d9-1 (Neon Beacon)

- Madeline, DSSA Buurian Anchorage Flight Control Ops

A breathtaking view, the first two high-metal worlds of the system are ringed. One planet even has colliding moons. It won’t be a guarantee that we will experience the collision, but a beauty of a system to see nonetheless!

ARRIVAL: Mon, 6 Jul, Evening -5 UTC

DEPART: Wed, 8 Jul, Evening -5 UTC
NEW DEPART: Fri, 10 Jul 0130 UTC
20200513213450_1.jpg
WAYPOINT 5 | NEON BEACON
Distance Traveled: 2933 LY

Glowing Green Giant registry GGG18, this system features one of very few bioluminescent gas giants known to humankind. GGG18 features hints of green in its atmosphere.

GGG Registry Thread

ARRIVAL: Thurs, 9 Jul, Evening -5 UTC

DEPART: Sun, 12 Jul, Evening -5 UTC
20200515121804_1.jpg
WAYPOINT 6 | THE IMPOSSIBLE
Distance Traveled: 5867 LY

*There will be NO midweek waypoint for this leg of the journey; Travellers have one week to reach The Impossible.

The system features a black hole and white dwarf primary/secondary, with a World-Like-World of 1.8 Earth-masses, only 23 LS away! Aptly named, “The Impossible.”

ARRIVAL: Thurs, 16 Jul, Evening -5 UTC

DEPART: Sun, 19 Jul, Evening -5 UTC
impossible forums jpg.jpg
WAYPOINT 7 | CHOREAM GIGANTUM
Distance Traveled: 3574 LY

So close to the destination system, but well worth a stop! System features several groupings of gas giants and high metal world configurations, all tightly orbiting one another providing out-of-this-world views!

ARRIVAL: Mon, 20 Jul, Evening -5 UTC

DEPART: Wed, 22 Jul, Evening -5 UTC
gigantum forums jpg.jpg
WAYPOINT 8 | THE DRYAU AWESOMES
Distance Traveled: 2138 LY

The future home of the DSSA Buurian Anchorage. It is here the carrier will be deployed, and set up as a permanent safe haven for all deep space travelers.

System hosts a topographical wonder: A black hole primary with a white dwarf secondary only several LS apart. Inside the white dwarf exclusion zone orbits a gas giant, and just outside of the arrival point lies a gas giant-water world combo with two landable moons!

SAFETY NOTICES:
1. Hyperspace travel: Due to the proximity of the white dwarf to the black hole, there is a chance to drop through the white dwarf. Ready your heatsinks upon witchspace exit.

2. We will be attempting to deploy the Anchorage as close to the gas giant-water world combo as possible. However, the landable moons were deemed NOT SAFE for landing during Distant Worlds 3305 Expedition. Surface travel at your own risk!!

ARRIVAL: Thurs, 23 Jul, Evening -5 UTC

We look forward to having you!

If you use discord, we will be in comms at the Buur Pit discord. Most announcements will be conducted through there as well.

If not, I'll be keeping the fleetcarrier.space message of the day updated as I can.

Departure will be this sunday, at 1800 UTC.

For those coming not present at the Buur Pit discord, you may wish to join it now. Upon joining the server, head to the bot commands channel and assign yourself the DSSA role to gain access to all of the text channels. It is there where I will be communicating all important announcements! Will do my best to keep other things updated as well.
