Wouldn't it be cool if instead of primary weapon you could choose to have another pistol, and you could also dual wield them in lieu of the primary weapon? There would be no ADS and the button for that would fire the other pistol instead. Reload could also be clumsy and slow if one needs more downsides. I, and I suspect most others, would just go plasma pistol akimbo, but there might be real merit to use P-15 and Zenith mix to deal with the shield mechanic.

The obvious downside to add to this is comical inaccuracy since you can't aim down the sight. This type of thing depends on how much a stickler for realism you want to be.
While dual wielding is probably a little more difficult to implement, I'd at least like to be able to use pistols in primary weapon slots as well.
We have 2 eyes, maybe they'll let us ADS both weapons at the same time, left eye on left pistol and right eye on right pistol... although we'd need a infusion of chameleon genes so we get the ability to use our eyes to track different targets
