Dumb Question Of The Day: How To Lock Landing Gear?

I just set out on another expedition, this time I went towards the Rim. For kicks I landed on a 0.4G planet. However my landing gear won't lock so I can't deploy my SRV. I don't see anything in the key bindings to lock landing gear. What am I missing? I'm on the ground with thrusters kicking up tons of dust.

It should be the same landing gear button you use in a station. As far as I know there is no option to 'lock' the gear, just the one button to deploy/retract them.

And for the record my first landing on a world was a belly flop. Apparently random lifeless moons don't include the 'landing gear not down' warning service.

Am I glitched or something? My thrusters won't shut down and my SRV is disabled...landing gear is definitely deployed.

Nevermind...there was something weird about that spot. I took off and successfully landed a few meters ahead.

Move along, nothing to see here!

Honestly we should have some kind of tow cable system to anchor ourselves to low-g worlds. Landing gear should not be required, but add risk if not used!

Middle screenshot shows you still haven't landed, go up a few feet and change nose or wing angle a tad, and try again. Also once you touch down, keep pressing vertical thrust down , incase she has not landed on all gears.

Who knew, right? :D

Middle photo clearly shows you haven't actually landed yet.

I yellow/orange circle should appear below your ship image on the dashboard when you reach a suitable landing zone. Then descend but watch the pitch and yaw indicators on the HUD which will tell you how to adjust...

I've had this problem often enough, it's not the gravity, it's the radar claiming you're on a landable spot while you aren't.
What can help anyways, but not without risk, is smacking the ship down. Not as strong to break the shields but a not so gentle impact can also make it acknowledge the position.
The risk with this being, although it happened to me in a while, is that usually when I did that I was thanked with the stuck landing bug where you can't take off.
It might that they got that bug fixed but I still play it save and unless I need to desperately land where I am do I just got for another spot.

I also hope they change the displaying of landing spots so that instead of flickering when you're over a suitable it would just blob them in a different color on the surface scan, that'd make landing in rough terrain so much easier. I'm sick of flying over places that are flat enough for my ship but won't be acknowledged because eff me -.-
