Hi Cmdrs!
As Distant Worlds 2 has reached Waypoint 4, and there really are not too many events planned this weekend, I decided to get in my SRV! One of my favorite things to do in the galaxy is to map a planet and find a cool course to drive through. Alas, we are soooo lucky at WP4, as the first moon near the basecamp is simply ripe for some SKIDS! The chosen site is gorgoues, with the deep blue and purple backdrop of the nebula behind.
I call the course Rusty Run - named after the bright orange hues scattered across the track. The start of the course is at the base of Golden Mountain. There are 5 total checkpoints along the route, and we end at Geological Signal (12). Some of the features of this course: misty canyons, very flat and smooth canyons, unobstructed course, and geological sites. While the course is relatively straight forward, there are a few tricky areas on the back leg that may be a little challenging and require some orienteering!
Length: 100km between start and finish [straight line] // ~180km following course route. It is estimated this course will take roughly 2-3 hours to complete.
*** Updated Map to Include Additional & Revised Coordinates***
Note there is no specific time to start or finish the race. This SRV adventure is intended for all Cmdrs to complete at their leisure. That being said, I will likely attempt the course twice if you want to come along with me [Sun 03:00 UTC // 16:00 UTC]
