Community Event / Creation E:D Retro Propaganda Poster Series

Hi dear all,

To pay tribute to the Developers of Elite: Dangerous, the Hungarian community released the first poster of the Elite: Dangerous Retro Poster series. This piece is an Asp Explorer advertisement made by me, but there's more to come from fellow Hungarian commanders in the near future.

Thank you so much guys for the kind compliments! To tell the truth I didn't expect so much positive reactions due to the poster's simple style - although it's a popular fanart trend of sci-fi genre nowadays. I hope I can work on the next part of the series at the upcoming weekend. Once it's ready I'll post the preview image here too. The full size image will be also available on our E: D site.

One more thing: is there anybody who can help me to get an acceptable resolution picture of the pilots' suit? I would be really grateful! It appears for some moment in the trailer but it's not enough to draw it properly.
Thanks again!

Absolutely love this. I even tried my hand at some minimalist retro posters myself (though nowhere near this good!)

This would be so great, I wish you could land and get out to explore and discover, unfortunately, the freedom is very finite.

where's the propaganda in that poster? it's advertising, not propaganda. I'd leave out the personal info at the side, it looks a bit tacky.

Yes, it's an advertisement, but I meant it's style not the content. I didn't find better label on the whole Internet, everybody use this to categorize the sytle. Sorry for the miscall, I hope somebody will help me to denominate it properly. Speaking of your opinion about the personal information: Frontier sometimes forget to refer to the original creator, as it has happened with my teammate the other day. The other reason is I've been victim of art theft several times, even they had the face to cut off my signature if it was possible without ruin the image. So it's - unfortunately - necessary and remains on each part of the series.

Lovely work, the dreamy colours are a joy to behold :)

One small nitpick, "discover infinite freedom" would be more felicitous than "discover the infinite freedom", in English. If you have it still as a PSD with layers, it'd be a quick fix.

That is a stunning piece, captures the Asp very well!
Unfortunately, it will never land on a planet in the game we now own. If it ever does it will be in another game we will have to buy that will plug into the one we have, but they didn't say that when they sold us the game we bought, bait and switch.

Wonderful piece! Don't you think the human-ship ratio should be a bit bigger? I thought ASP is a relatively big ship compare to human...
LOL it's a giant humanoid flying a miniature ASP.

hi mossfoot, I just realized you mentioned me in your retro poster thread, thank you so much for it!
They're not less good at all, just an other style (my constant problem is I can't simplify my creations enough) To tell the truth your style is a bit closer to the original genre than mine :)

You're right, thank you for the notice, I'll fix it next week

In response to the sight of StarLightBreaker I'll also try to do something with the "mini ASP - huge human" problem. The original conception was the human figure is much closer than the ship, but it seems it didn't come out well.
