Earth likes - hints please

Thanks one and all, just looks like i just have to keep looking, however I will continue to limit my search to the more probable type stars.
If I ever find one I will let you know....

I have explored well over 3000 systems so far..

Keep at it. Have scanned 700 system or so in total and my CMDR has his name on two ELW, three Ammonia Worlds and a hand full of Water worlds.

A pleasant ELW:

A not so pleasant ammonia world:

Found one.... round an A type star, currently heading in to claim it (just hope nobody else does in the mean time), I will upload details once I have managed to travel back....

Nice one, the first is the most memorable. Now you need to find two in a system, and one with rings.....

Just commit to a long journey and honk every system along the way.

I found eight unregistered ELWs en route to Sagittarius A*

I've found another one so far coming home.

All quite by accident - i wasn't targeting specific star types or anything. Just pure luck. If you visit enough systems, you'll find what you seek.

F-Class stars are the sweet spot for Earth Likes.
I would search AFGs along a route though as AFG all seem to have a good chance of earths

There are a lot of earths around K class in the data but you have to remember that there are 20 - 30 - 40 times more K class stars than F class stars so chances of find an Earth around one particular F class are much greated than K classes.

I have found more than 30 so far between approx 3k ly worth of exploration. I do not distinguish between stars. I set a path, jump the fastest route and just scan the system. I've even found 2 per system. As a note, water worlds can often be mudballs!

You mean 30 Earth Like Planets or 30 Water Worlds or 30 Terraformable!?

If 30 ELP, that's a very nice 3,000 ly stretch!! 1 every 100ly!! Awesome!!

Altogether I'd say about ~20 Earthlikes and 10+ Water worlds. I've been bad at keeping my eye on if they are terraformable or not. :S

I've found about 20 so far and scanned a total of 6000 systems. So, they are rare. But that just means you'll be happier and more excited when you do find one!!

It's just a probability thing. There are people who have found earth-likes orbiting neutron stars, or orbiting water worlds. It's helpful if you stick to main sequence stars, but they're everywhere. Just keep looking and you will find them.

20 Earth-likes in a 3000 ly stretch! Wow! That is very impressive. I have, perhaps, 16 or 17 (counting the ones from my current trip - so this assumes I do not blow up in the next several hours) and have travelled in total over the course of the game, hmm... 50 or 60,000 ly? Maybe More. Not sure how far I have gone all together, but I am sure you have a gift at finding ELWs!

Perhaps! Then there is that high-metal content planet with a 100% water atmosphere. How is that not a water world? Lol...

I've been exploring in the dark areas without any designations, no nearby nebulae, no specials stars, it's all completely uninteresting. I guess this just goes along the lines of that saying, you'll find life in the places you least expect it.

That 100% water atmosphere, though. I want to know what that looks like IRL lol.

Wow! That's very impressive, to say the least!

See, those are very big numbers!...just wanted to make sure the difference was clear as for me, it took me a while -like a month or two- to differentiate Earth Like Planets, from Water Worlds, from Terraformable....I thought they were more or less interchangeable and more or less the same lot...they are not!

Yes, you have Water Worlds, but not all of those are terraformable...so, you have Water Worlds Terraformable Candidates as well and those are more like Earth, but still not Earth Like Planets which are unique.

Same goes with Gas Giants with Ammonia Based Life...and Ammonia Worlds....two different beasts...very simmilar but one pays off greatly -the Ammonia World, +20,000cr- and the other is almost as a regular Giant -1,600cr.

In the myriad of planets, the ones that are more rare and hence pay more, goes like this, from top to less:

Earth Like Planet
Ammonia World
Water World Terraformable
Water Worlds
Metal Rich Terraformable Candidates
Hi Metal Terraformable
Metal Rich
Hi Metal

I just found one less than 1,000 LY from SOL at 8AU out from an Orange Giant. And it had a moon that was a candidate for terraforming no less.

2.3 x earth mass, 7.7k Km Radius, 13,000 day orbit with a 1.1 day rotation. Kids the summer is 9 years long!!!!!!!

I just solved the Social Security problem, we move all the old people there and they never get the next pension check.

Avoid red fields, for many reasons.
Young stars / T-tauri fields won't. They may, I've only ever found ice worlds. the chances here are low:

On my current jaunt I have explored 1,000 systems and found 7 Earth likes (0.7%), 68 Water worlds (6.8%). The earth likes of 0.7% is a true reflection of the numbers, the waters are probably slightly higher as there have been possible water worlds I have seen but they were >350,000Ls so I didnt bother.

So, what are "terrestrial" worlds considered? At first I thought they were "Earth like", but they don't say "Earth Like" in the description. I did a cursory search through the forum for terrestrial worlds, but haven't scored any results. In my current trip I've found about 20 of these in 7,000ly of travels.
