I'm a beginner at exploring, and after reaching 1000 LY in ~ 33 jumps, and making it to the North America Nebula in only two nights of play (stopping to detail scan undiscovered non-ice worlds), I made a choice that my next leg of the journey will be done in economy mode.
1000 LY now plots with 161 jumps, I managed only approx 40 jumps last night, again I stop to scan non-ice worlds that haven't been discovered yet.
I'm not sure I'm going to get very far this way, but there's a lot of undiscovered stuff out there.
To be honest, I haven't found very many interesting things, and most of the stars I hit are TT, but I'm in it for the long haul.
At this rate (40 jumps, 3 hrs/night) , I should make it to my next target nebula in about 85 days.
Anyone else exploring this way, or am I nuts?
