Economy downfall

Only I've been doing that for a month and just yesterday everything system ran out of everything, just weird.

Another thing. The galaxy map trade routs never change at all even though that good is no longer sold at the system it shows at it is been imported. That has to be corrected

That depends on what it's supposed to show.

I always assumed that it was based on recently traded goods, in which case it will take a while to respond to the new economy.

While I'm at it, I know all of the missions and what noot are not out yet. I know there are features that are missing. What I'm trying to figure out is what is the long term game is like. Am I gonna find myself doing the same mission on the board over and over again? Do i just keep on truckin? Is there an overall story that will somehow come into play when i'm just minding my own business. I fear this becoming like Black Prophecy. Mission rinse and repeat. Educate me.

As a sandbox (ish) game, I think the players who end up enjoying it the most will be those willing to bring some of their own goals and role-playing into it. If you want to be an Explorer, you could spend the next several years finding and surveying star systems, maybe find a few interesting things out there. If you want tons of combat, you can aim to be the baddest pirate or bounty hunter in the core systems. Want even more PvP? Join one of the major factions and go to war for your side. Or be a trader following close behind the wave of explorers, to find new profitable trade routes as they open up.

The bulletin board missions will drive some of that, but I don't think it will be enough, for most of us. We'll have to bring some of our own goals into it, and write our personal stories inside the Galactic sandbox. It won't be handed to us on a plate, like some games.

To expand on that, I think one of the things that'll drive this game will be the forum community. As long as we have the story tellers that can turn any in-game experience into a wonderful tale of adventure that excites fellow players that read it, prompting them to go find their own adventure to tell, we'll have a great game on our hands.

We have to remember that the game itself, no matter how good it is, is only half of the experience in community settings like this. As Isinona said in one of his/her earlier Azeban videos, it's the random chaos that happens by injecting player freedom into the game that makes it great. WE'RE what makes the game great.

We need to keep the forums and the community alive. And we'll do that by pushing the drive to explore. And there'll be no better game to explore than ED.
