Too all those saying that steam was a negative with regards to hosting this game on it. I said it was a good idea and will generate many many more sales. Those that think steam is bad are still living in the dark ages of digital downloads and gaming. Steam is a very powerful medium and is used by many hardcore veteran gamers all over. There is no better platform to launch a game on.
I'm not sure about sales figures. I think it's a testament to the success of the advertising more than anything.
The most accurate measurement of the quality of a game that I've found is Metacritic's user reviews:
Yeah I know what you mean, but I still think Metacritic's pretty reliable. Basically it's all just about the place with the most reviews - the more people that submit reviews, the more accurate the rating becomes.Yeah I agree, Steam is fantastic and all for marketing but more people does not necessarily mean more people in-game as others have saidIt also doesn't always attract the type of people Elite may want to attract...
I've found metacritic to be one of the worst imho with numerous people inflating/reducing games scores with multiple accounts. My personal view is to read reviews and all that but then spend at least 1-2 hours just watching gameplay vids.
Last thing I do before buying is google "Game name here + bugs" and see what the worst thing(s) currently going off are and if I could deal with them![]()
I used the four arrow keys when I was on M & KB for thruster forwards, backwards left and right. Then I used PAGE UP for up and PAGE DOWN for down. Works a treat.I recently moved country and didn't bring a joystick with me, so have been flying a bit with keyboard and mouse. Most things were ok, but landing in stations... pheew... like an idiot I thought I might be able to do it without using vertical thrusters (I was too lazy to find the key) and no way could I land that thing.
I still can't figure out how to get the 'invert axis' working for pitch. Ship always points down when the mouse goes down.
