ED is my favorite thing I've played using surround with a triple setup.
I use the three monitors for work -- much easier to review research and draft when I have docs side by side, I found it easier neck-wise to scan left to right than up down. Found out later that it's also fantastic for games+rep for rockin' the ol' school keyboard!
Havent seen one like that in a decade .. hehe
Congrats on the setup too. Myself I find one is enough with the TrackIR, but it is a personal preference I think. I went a 1x40" screen which looks great!
Looks great. What size /res are the monitors? I am currently running a dual setup, 2x HP ZR2740w. Playing ED on one and using the other for web browsing & other stuff. I have been contemplating getting a third monitor for a while now.
ED is great in surround... and a single GTX 970 will run it in 5760x1080 on Ultra at high framrates. Not many games with this quality of graphics you can say that about.
Nice I've actually got to 2x GTX 680
I just bought this beast: http://www.asus.com/gr/Graphics_Cards/STRIXGTX780OC6GD5/
and I am quite happy with it: I run ED at 3840x1080 surround and get steady 60fps (because I have set VSYNc ON and fps limited to 60 - otherwise it woud have been even higher)
I haven't had time to check it inside stations so I cross my fingures herebut the fluidity of the experience is phenomenal: 6 gigs of VRAM must play some role (even minor) here
.
Previously I was running surround with 2xGTX 580s(3GBVRAM) but one of them malfunctioned and I lost that ability: 1 GTX 580 can not support 2 monitors in surround mode. Even the two 580s were struggling to get 50-55 fps in deep space and around 20-30s inside stations with 95 Celcius- no wonder one of them died eventually.
This beast doesn't seem to go over 65-67 Celcius at 3840x1080 and this makes it almost silent because funs run iddle until 65C. They only start rotating above 65C.
Of course as dust builds up with time, it will become noisier eventually..
Here is a screenie:
I think that's asking too much at this point.I was wondering that too. I have three monitors and the two at the sides are very stretched out. I did play with the FOV slider a while ago, might try again tonight.
