yeah, I use everything w/ surround -- ed, SC (for a quick dog fight fix), and MWO.
I was considering oculus, but since I actually use this rig for work, I'm probably going to go w/ 3x 4k monitors (and possibly a 4th 980 gtx)
+rep for rockin' the ol' school keyboard!

Congrats on the setup too. Myself I find one is enough with the TrackIR, but it is a personal preference I think. I went a 1x40" screen which looks great!

I use the three monitors for work -- much easier to review research and draft when I have docs side by side, I found it easier neck-wise to scan left to right than up down. Found out later that it's also fantastic for games+rep for rockin' the ol' school keyboard!

I had a northgate omnikey for years, until I spilled coffee on it --- I found the one in the pic on ebay, in the box, still in plastic, with the original 3.5" floppy install.
But if you REALLY want to see oldschool, check out the nixie tubes in my desktop-- just finished building this rig a few months ago:

I had an old Honeywell K/B that looked just like that for years. It was indestructable, but forced to update when PS2 plugs started to disappear. Then suffered a few years of crappy K/B till the more recent return of the mechanical K/. Now have a Ducky which I really like. Those Nixie tubes are very cool too!
Monitors are nothing special, just 28" Samsung 1900x1200. When 4k monitors drop in price and MS finally fixes scaling issues, I'm going to three 4k monitors (and probably a 4th 980gtx to be able to drive them-- or whatever new card we all MUST have at that point)

and I am quite happy with it: I run ED at 3840x1080 surround and get steady 60fps (because I have set VSYNc ON and fps limited to 60 - otherwise it woud have been even higher)
I haven't had time to check it inside stations so I cross my fingures here
but the fluidity of the experience is phenomenal: 6 gigs of VRAM must play some role (even minor) here .Previously I was running surround with 2xGTX 580s(3GBVRAM) but one of them malfunctioned and I lost that ability: 1 GTX 580 can not support 2 monitors in surround mode. Even the two 580s were struggling to get 50-55 fps in deep space and around 20-30s inside stations with 95 Celcius
- no wonder one of them died eventually.This beast doesn't seem to go over 65-67 Celcius at 3840x1080 and this makes it almost silent because funs run iddle until 65C. They only start rotating above 65C.
Of course as dust builds up with time, it will become noisier eventually..

lol.. a gtx780 will run anything ED can throw at it all day without breaking a sweat. don't worry about it.
Anyone found a way to increase FOV - at 100% the sides are still badly distorted (Stretched) but still great fun! Why cant the side monitors be additional view ports? (No stretch)?
I was wondering that too. I have three monitors and the two at the sides are very stretched out. I did play with the FOV slider a while ago, might try again tonight.
I think that's asking too much at this point.
