ED is almost unplayable right now. PLEASE upgrade the server hamsters.

Big blank black screen appears blocking my forward view. 30 secs later the entire screen turns black, and stays black. Only way to rectify this is to end task using task manager.
I just got this for the first time today. Very strange bug. As you described, it's just like a dark panel over the viewport. I could still see the cockpit/hud/space around the edges of the darkened area.

It happened to me right after completing a hyperspace jump. Zoom in toward star at completion of jump, big black shadowy box in face as I hurtle toward said star. Panicked Alt-F4ing got me nowhere; luckily, I got task manager open and killed the game before anything bad happened.
 
Sorry man, after the F1 flop they can only afford t2.micros in the cloud.

Serious reply; I couldn't log in for a solid hour and a half on Orange Sidewinder last night. It was rough. The long SC drop times have also been a constant thorn in my side.

Some of your more exotic bugs have not happened to me, but after even 15 minutes of operation most of my sound stops working.
 
It's the same over on legacy ... I don't think i have ever had so many stops or longer hyper jumps in all the years I've been on console .
 
Since 05/12/24 I have successfully bookmarked and added to favourites a station, I have also succeeded getting a Black Adder error every time I try to bookmark, by different methods, a Rescue megaship.

I have also had one other colourful snake, orange?, when trying to re-enter the game stuck at the spinning ship.

Some jumps take too long but I haven’t noticed many of the other issues mentioned.

Interesting replies...some Cmdrs affected more than others.
Thursdays server maintenance was done after I originally posted this. Some of the hamsters, for me anyways, have been upgraded. I'm now getting almost zero long jump or SC exit times, which is a breath of fresh air and makes the other issues slightly more tolerable.
That said, I am still having more issues than in the last 10 years...

1. Black screen. This comes in two flavours. It's either a full completely black screen or a black window that pops up. The black window is the same size as the engineers, station menu or Codex windows...but completely black, no text. Sometimes if I wait the black windows suddenly turns into a full black screen. This only ever happens at the rescue ships when other Cmdrs are in the instance. It can occur the second I dop into it or just as I approach the rescue ship. Black screen is punctuated by a "wooshing" sound effect, End Task using task manager is the only way to fix this. This happens about 80% of the time when an instance has more than 4 players.
2. Lost Jump Route. Forgot to mention this in OP. Randomly ED forgets my route when I jump into a system. Either it forgets the entire route, like I had no route selected, or forgets the end station when I jump into a system. Doesn't matter if route in manually selected or using book marks.
3. Blank Comms Panel. Comms panel was all black, no icons, nothing. When pressing the key to open the comms panel an empty black panel displayed where the comms panel would have been. Jumping didn't fix it, had to relog.
4. Adjudication server, Purple Python. Random, too many to count.
5. Adjudication server, Blue Cobra. Got this today, never had it before.
6. Missing Star. No star visible at the end of the hyper/witch space tunnel.

The above bugs are frustrating...but the normal jump times are just a god send and make the above a little more bearable.
1 hamster upgraded, 9 to go :D

I have had several (half a dozen or so) complete crashs of my computer, reboot required, in addition to some just game client crashes since Thursday, on a computer that is usually entirely stable.

Lost Jump routes happens to me as well.

Me too😡 and it usually reboots my computer into the bios with no hard drive found. I tried reinstalling the game still the same thing happens.
 
There are many scarlet krait and purple adder network connection drops. Response times are laggy across mission boards and while jumping from system to system. I just started playing again last week after a nine-month break, and the servers feel terrible. It's almost like they took half of them away for another project.

I really hope FDEV can fix the network lag/issues.
 
Since Christmas I tried several times to do a speed run and greeted with long jumps (up to 2 minutes) and mauve adders (one after 60 jumps into the run, others after between 5 and 15 jumps, having to about and restart, just to see that happen again. I gave up eventually.

Same here, last few days the server hamsters have alowed down...prob due to the amount of ppl all off work at the same time.
All my other original issues in my first post have mostly been resolved and we're directly related to the rescue ship instance, which I no longer visit.
My route planner has been cleared once or twice after a jump, but no where near as frequent as before.

Very glad to hear that, can't imagine going through what you did without me throwing my PC mouse against the wall in a fit of pique.

Getting Black / Muave Adder is bad enough. As is jumps taking over a minute. As is really long load-in times.

But what’s really getting me right now are the broken limpets. You expect us to do Poweplay assignments were we have to drop in to a Power Wreck site and salvage things quickly before NPCs that we cannot fight back against start to attack us, but our limpets sit at our cargo scoop just twiddling their thumbs because the servers are so lagged out.

This is unacceptable. All of this, together, is completely broken and unacceptable. Going to make Star Citizen appear polished at this rate, Frontier.

What’s wrong with them? I’ve not had any issues with them in normal space for ages.

I’m assuming it’s because you’ve got your cargo hold open? You know you can still use your weapons with it open right? I often do whole CZs with collectors out to collect mats from destroyed ships.

This is unacceptable. All of this, together, is completely broken and unacceptable. Going to make Star Citizen appear polished at this rate, Frontier.

Believe me, ED is head and shoulders above Star Citizens when it comes to playability right now!

This is a network connection issue. I saw it happening a few weeks ago; no sign of it the last few days.
