ED Suggestion to reduce one aspect of griefers

The short of it - came out of a station in a t7, in the 4 seconds it took from passing through the slot to closing the galaxy map, some griefer had stripped the shields and 1 second later the ship was destroyed. It would be nice if the sounds of the game could continue when looking at galaxy map...

2ndly this griefer cost me 5M, from a budget of 22M, I had an asp, sold went to a t7, loaded with 1.3M cargo and first outing it is destroyed, 4 seconds worth of space flight, needless to say, I went back to the asp. However unbekown to me, if you do not strip a ship before selling it, you pay 10% hit on total value...a nice gotcha there (a game flaw if you ask me), 1M T7 rebuy and 3M lost from not knowing that you have to strip ships before changing.

Whilst I sympathise for your loss, you haven't been "griefed". I would also recommend not being too absorbed in mapping, etc. I agree that 'under attack' should be a powerful alert that overrides everything else to snap you back into the game, however.

To me, it is the very definition of the word grief, this guys only aim was to cause grief. That is why he camped out above the station and picked of a T7, he not wanted the bounty, or cargo, or challenge of PvP, he wanted to cause a loss to another player, grief...Would he have picked off a viper? no, the rebuy is too low, and he might have got his ass kicked.

I just think it is strange, that this 'map room' on the ship, you must leave the bridge and go to a special sound proof room to have piece and quiet whilst plotting your next vacation ;)

I wouldn´t recommend to look at the street map while changing highways in RL either... However i would like to see fines being given to those who take the wrong side of the slot or are parking in front of it. Regarding you get killed for loitering...

Lol you looked away from where you were going and got screwed over.
However I do agree that the game sounds shouldn't dim while in the map; the map has no sounds which are particularly useful.

The T7 was moving at full power, nothing was in front of it, it was moving out to clear the FSD inhibitor.

My complaint is not against this guy, if you play ED you can expect to get killed now and then. It is the mechanics behind it (the ship selling / buying cost me 2x more then the station camper did and the fact that damage to the ship is muted).

He didn't grief you, he just blew your ship up. Whatever the consequences for unprovoked attacks are, he had to bear them. If those consequences are not scaled to the gravity of his offence then that's an issue with the game, not the players behaviour.

Its actually an exploit of kinds to sell all ur gear before you sell the ship. Its an oversight n in my humble opinion all gear on ships should lose some value when sold. Why a second hand used lazer costs nothing. To sell back.

But also use it as a lesson ALWAYS think the worst if you pick up a player on the scanner. Do not browse map with players around. Its even risky in supercruise but atleast that fires you back to cockpit.

That said this guy was a d*#$ but unfortunately you seem to get that in these games.

A lot of "pvpers" are carebears. They like cannister spam. 3v 1 at warp in points. Hanging inside outside station and shooting stuff. Its a mentality of some small group. They are like the people who will be found torturing cats lol.

Not much u can do. Write his name and pm people u know to get him. Ill write him on my list if you mail me. These people dont enrich the game at all sadly.

Ps i am pro pvp. Im just sadenned a lot of people want this risk free cat torturing style pvp. Bizarre.
