Really love having VA and EDDI working along side of the game. Adds alot of immersion, plus great info.
I use the Win 10 Zira voice and its funny when it phonetically pronounces words.
Like it will say Cobra MKIII and pronounce it MK3, but pronounces my Asp Explorer by the letters A.S.P.
Also when it reads some commodity names like "Fujin Tee-Ah"

It would be great if Frontier would get with the creators of both apps and work at integrating them into Elite Dangerous as a game feature

With EDDI maybe. Voice Attack costs real money. Not a lot, but it would still be an additional expense for Frontier.

Yes this is on the list of things to look at. I'm not sure how easy it is to work out which ship you get in to if you start in a fighter or buggy; need to take a closer look.

The buggy is the buggy, only 1 of them. There are 3 fighters though. This is what my commander continued code has in it so that I can tell what I'm driving when loading back into the game:

Begin Text Compare : [EDDI commander continued ship] Equals 'Federation_Fighter'
Begin Text Compare : [EDDI commander continued ship] Equals 'Independent_Fighter'
Begin Text Compare : [EDDI commander continued ship] Equals 'Empire_Fighter'
Begin Text Compare : [EDDI commander continued ship] Equals 'TestBuggy'

as reported by the journal. If that helps people :)

For the docking granted event, the pad location TTS (6 o'clock far) starts immediately and overlaps with the station's authorization Voice. I tryied to chagne the Pause(8000) value but nothing happens. What am I doing wrong?
Thanks

It sounds like the voice you are using does not support phonetic speech, or that you have disabled phonetic speech in the EDDI's 'Text-to-speech' tab. Which voice are you using for text-to-speech?

Does EDDI handle multiple commander profiles automatically, is there some configuration required, or any recommended workarounds/hacks to handle this?

I've checked the front page and troubleshooting but couldn't see any mention of this. I'd like to hook up EDDI and some of the integration stuff, but have two separate commanders that I fly with and don't want to mess up any stored data between the two. I'd also like to explore the integration with third-party sites/tools, but I'm guessing the same issues might apply.

I do use a batch file to launch ED with the appropriate user profile to save logging in/out via the launcher, so tying in any extra steps needed to get EDDI to work shouldn't be a problem.

Thanks for developing a great tool!

I know there's a fine paid event. And by looking at the journal, there's also a redeem voucher event, but I see it nowhere in the speech responder. Am I missing it? If I'm not, could it be added?

All EDDI data is held in %APPDATA% so if you are using runas in your batch file this will be fine.

I'm waiting on FD to add the details of the faction for which the voucher is redeemed.

I'm not using RunAs; I simply rename the "user.config" file in the Elite folder according to whichever commander account I want to use. Sounds like I should find the name of the EDDI %APPDATA% folder and rename that as well. Are the global settings vs. per-character dynamic data stored in separate files or easily parseable (i.e. can I use the same settings across both accounts and/or manually copy the settings between text files), or do I have to set it up completely from scratch for each account and remember to apply any changes twice?

The simplest solution is to move the entire %APPDATA%\EDDI directory. If you want to share global settings between the accounts then you probably will want to copy the 'personalities' subdirectory, along with the 'galnet' 'netlog.json' 'speech.json' and 'speechresponder.json' files, between the two.

The problem I see there is what if there are two or more factions that are being redeemed at the same time? The Voucher received is basically the same problem. While the Journal does tell you what factions issued the vouchers, it doesn't tell you how much each individual voucher is for, just the total of all vouchers received. And there is no faction information on who the fine was for when paying a fine, just that a fine was paid.

This has probably been asked before but I don't fancy searching 94 pages as you can imagine. Can you change the voice used to a non-microsoft voice? All the ones I have don't sound very good at all.

The EDDI voice is the default voice you have installed for text-to-speech on your computer. You can get other voices some that aren't from Microsoft, but they cost money. Ivona has 2 very good voices. Amy and Brian. Both are British and both sound fantastic. I think the Brian voice sounds rather sexy, but I can see a man thinking the same thing about Amy. Amy is the template they used for ASTRA's voice in the HSC voice pack for Voice attack. I think HSC used Brian as well in one of their male voice packs.

I paid $49 USD for one Ivona voice and I am very happy with it.

Do you have Microsoft Hazel? Quite a nice British female voice. Excellent dialog and dictation and is my AI voice in ED.
