Release EDDI - Windows app for immersion and more

I'm unable to get EDDI to recognise the ship I'm in when I ask for Ship Status I get the response "You've not told me which ship you're flying" So how do I tell EDDI which ship I'm flying? I only have one ship and it's shown in EDDI.

After Voice Attack 1.6 update, I'm experiencing frequent crashes if I use EDDI plugin (every 5/10 minutes). VA simply shuts up.
I've never had issues with the previous 1.5 beta.
If I disable the plugin, and I use EDDI standalone application, while going on using VA for my personal profiles, everything works perfectly.
If I enable it, crashes happen again (in this case EDDI app is kept closed, obviously...)

I was still unable to isolate the issue, as the crashes seem to happen randomly, even when I'm not talking, neither VA or EDDI plugin are. However it happens every time.

Right now I've fallen back using both EDDI and VA separately.

I'm wondering if I have to update the EDDI profile on VA, after the last update perhaps?

I haven't tested EDDI with VA 1.6 yet, I'll download it and see if I can find out what's going on.

Are you using a Cereproc voice by any chance?

Also, if you see anything interesting in %APPDATA%\EDDI\eddi.log please upload it and let me know (button to upload it is on the first tab of the EDDI UI).

That doesn't sound like EDDI, it doesn't have that response (unless it's an old EDDI 1.x script that's out of date).

i just start a little exploration trip, during my "jumping", eddi says where i go, system type, governement, etc, all well, eddi also says how many humans lives in the system, problem with esplorazion is eddi dont says number, so the final results is "this system is home of humans", without number. there's something i can do to make eddi says "theres no humans life here" or something similar? this happen only away from the bubble, usually eddi says "the system is home of 0 humans" if i found a system without population into the bubble :D . thank you

I just checked it on my end and it's working for me. What do you think there's wrong at your end ?
My version only gives a message stating the fuel is depleted to 50%, 75% or 95%. It doesn't tell how much fuel is used for the jump or how much fuel is remaining but that's because I didn't put that in the command.
Just for checking I did temporally changed my VA-command to have my AI tell me how much fuel is remaining and did a trip. I started of with 64t and as soon I got below 32t it stated I was below 50% so that's working as it should for me.

EDDI says "Your connection to the companion app is good but experiencing temporary issues. Your information should be available soon." It does that for hours now, the Shipyard header is empty (no ships) and no fund information etc. Think that's the reason why my fuel script is not working. Can't even connect to my account via frontierstore.net :(

Anything i can do about that?

No it's the latest version 2.0.9 via VA 1.6. OK then maybe it's the Multi-Crew pack I'm using, so I'll ask there.

it was the Multi-Crew .vap

I'm using Speech2Go Ivona Text.to.Speech Voice pack. I've always used it even with EDDI and VA 1.5 beta.

I'll check the log for sure!

EDDI doesn't control your ship.

This is a fun one. When starting the game the journal is meant to tell you what ship you are in. If you're in a buggy or a fighter it tells you that, but doesn't tell you what ship they came from, so when you dock with the main ship there's no details on what that ship is. I need to see if I can find some way around this but at the moment I'm not sure what that might be.

Just a long shot but you talking about dinner and it being just past 5 o'clock in the evening (i'm in Holland) here suggest that you might be in continental Europe too.
What do you use as decimal separator, a dot or a comma ? I ask because in the old EDDI 1 I had trouble with logging some systems to EDSM and it turned out it had to do with my local settings. JGM then fixed it in EDDI and my problem was over. Maybe it's a similar problem and JGM could have a look.

Ok...it finally works. :)

I cant explain exactly what i did to fix it unfortunally.

I played around a little with the VA-Command but only with the voice part.
And i switched ships ingame and removed and reinstalled the extra fuel tank.

The only way that i can think of is that EDDI somehow got wrong or old info about my fitting.
Maybe Elite log fail?

However it works perfectly now.
Thank you for sorting this out !!

edit: i use dots as decimal seperator. And yes we are practically neighbours ;)

Updated Jumped Event Fuel information script:
Code:
{set currentfuel to (event.fuelremaining / ship.fueltank)}

{Pause(2000)}

{if icurrentfuel < 0.08:
   Warning! Ships Fueltank depleted! Running on reserves. Shutdown of non-essencial Systems and sending out a Distress-call is recommended for survival!
|elif currentfuel < 0.16:
  Warning: Ships Fueltank almost depleted. Immediate course correction to a System with scoopable Stars or Refueling Stations is required. {Humanise(event.fuelremaining)} Tons of Fuel remaining.
|elif currentfuel <= 0.25:
  Attention, Ships Fueltank more than 75% depleted. Fuelscooping the next viable Star is Advised. {Humanise(event.fuelremaining)} Tons of Fuel remaining.
|elif currentfuel <= 0.5:
  Attention, Ships Fueltank more than 50% depleted. {Humanise(event.fuelremaining)} Tons of Fuel remaining.
|elif currentfuel > 0.5:
  Postjump Fuel reserves within specified safety parameters.
}

I changed the lowest Fuel entry to percentage (15% remaining) rather than flat so it should work with smaller ships and fueltanks .. also added a last resort warning which, on my corvette, would equal 1 hour of fuel consumption when systems are shut down so you have time to get help from the Fuelrats or a friend .. obviously that varies from ship to ship and installed modules.

Additionally i added a general response after each jump, telling you that your fuel is ok when above 50% (and so you can check if the script is working for you). If you don't want that much chatter just remove the last 2 lines from the script.

I downloaded EDDI a few days ago, went through the tabs and it worked fine during that game session; a hour or so. Today when I tried to start EDDi and then Elite; EDDI wouldn't start. I uninstalled EDDI, downloaded it again but it wouldn't even go to the tabs box. Files are all in the proper folder. I am using Windows 10. Any suggestins would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Please could you see if there is an %APPDATA%\EDDI\eddi.log file, and if so upload it somewhere and PM me a link to it? Thank you.

Do you have the latest version of EDDI? It should be 2.0.9. If so the you can try shutting down EDDI, removing %APPDATA%\EDDI, and then restarting reconfiguring EDDI.

EDDI now crashes when i click on any of the dropdown menus. Like choosing a ship role, or changing the TTS voice. Reinstalling didn't help.

Is this just me?

I haven't heard of that one before, I must admit. Please could you send me your EDDI log so that I can take a look at it (it's a button on the first tab when you open EDDI)? Thanks.

I've just released 2.0.10. It hasn't gone through as much testing as I would like as there has been an unexpected change to the journal in patch 2.2.0.2 that means older versions of EDDI won't be picking up correct information any more. Full changelog is:

  • Update documentation for material and rarity information
  • Update coriolis export for Beluga Liner
  • Help large star system databases by adding an index
  • Add "shared" flag for bounty events
  • Add "source" for ship refuelled
  • Ship refuelled event now triggered when finishing scooping fuel
  • Handle renamed fields for system information in FSD jumps in 2.2.0.2
  • Add "Modification crafted" event
  • Add "Modification applied" event
  • Add "Engineer progressed" event

Details on how to obtain it are, as always in the original post.
