I believe I've added nine tabs to date. I still have the default History (grid) tab. Next to that, I have an Exploration (grid) tab. The Exploration grid includes System Information and Scan (screenshot below). After that, all tabs are standalone or default (no grid tabs). I also use the compass overlay on my center display (3840 x 2160 @ 150% scaling). EDD runs on my left display (1920 x 1200 @ 100% scaling). I have four displays overall.
The following screenshot illustrates all the other tabs I have setup. It also shows the most recent system that required clicking the "refresh the history" icon. A, ABC, AB 1, and AB 2 appeared immediately after the initial system honk. I then entered FSS, and zoomed in on AB 1 and AB 2 to uncover possible signals. After that, I continued to FSS the system. EDD's scan panel did not update after discovering ABC 2 and all it's moons, so I clicked the update icon at that time. After less than a minute, it refreshed, and further discoveries populated the scan panel normally.
I've noticed that the "Scan ##/##" at the top of the scan window almost always shows as if I've already discovered everything in the system. I could be mistaken, but I think it used to increment as bodies were newly discovered. In this particular system, it showed 38/38 right after the initial system honk. That may be related, so I thought it was worth sharing.
Let me know if there's anything else I can do to help.
Edit: I forgot to mention, the scan panel on my History tab is set to update from EDSM and Spansh. None of my other tabs are. I just discovered that, and have turned off the updater on the History tab. Also: this commander doesn't have a carrier. The carrier tab is only used by one of my three commanders for now.
