Release EDDiscovery 18.X is now out! New modules panel upgrade and Engineering

That reply was about you not having had problem before with the 8.3.3 installer.

Avast has no problem with the downloading or when manually scanning previously 8.3.3 and now the current version available on github. However, when I attempted to install it, it complained of potentially suspicious behaviour and (until manually overridden) blocked it and uploaded it to Avast for checking. (It has later on come back with a message saying it's clean but the point is there's something it still doesn't completely like it.)

The trial installer message is because they've recomplied the program using a different installer program/version than before to stop the anti virus block, persumingly a trial version just to get it working in the mean time.

Ooops. Didn't see your post. Sorry.

Yes, we need to tlc the scan panel with better icons. It slipped past our triage system and help update. Its showing volcanism and terraform.

The installer issue was fixed by another team member rebuilding the executable. I'll double check with total virus scanner before pushing another release. The virus scanners seem to randomly flag up installer builds because the next trial one I did was not flagged.

I just want to be the 9872728347520th person to say how great ED-Discovery is!

I'm having a nerdgasm with this thing. As a database guy I really appreciate it.
I got major nostalgia going over my history too

Thanks!

Greetings!
For some reason since some versions ago I cant find the export/import tab. If I recall correctly it used to be under settings. With the new layout functionality, if I want to add a new tab, I cant find that option...export/import.
Can someone point me where it is?

Thank you!
Cheers!

There's not a dedicated separate section any more - the views of exportable data (journal grid view, scan panel etc) have a little Excel icon that brings up the export dialog for that datatype and lets you pick date ranges/sub filters etc. and export the data.

Wow...I feel silly for not noticing it. Thank you very much for your reply.
Cheers!

Program since the last update has been freezing after being launched, have to have it sit for 10 mins with it tinted white before it unfreezes. Not sure what I can try with it. Already running as admin.

Remember you can add new tabs to the program. Right click on the tab bar and you can remove and add new tabs.

The import export dialog did not logically sit with the design of the UI we have been working towards and thus was removed.

As for freezing.. sometimes this is an internet issue. Try disabling all external syncs edsm etc in your commander settings and see what happens

Thank you. Thank you. Thank you!!! The other day I was thinking how neat it would be if I could do that. And lo and behold... it's already there. Awesome!

Wasn't there a statistics tab in the older versions (like the 2nd tab) where you could look at how many ELW's, Ammonia worlds, Metal Rich etc. you've discovered to date and the % of all planets you scanned they compromise of? I swore there was something like this, but now I noticed the 2nd tab is "Route Finder" now.

Am I just looking in the wrong place? Can't seem to find it anymore and swore it was there at one point. I haven't really been paying too much attention to the panels while exploring as I've been too busy watching my historical wrestling programs...

Yes there is a stats panel. Right click on the tab line and add it in. Or click on the panel section icon in one of be four configurable history areas to select it. Or pop it out using the task bar panel icon

That's it, thank you. And didn't realize all those other panels I can add, that's great...

Over 25 panels now, more coming when I get a chance. Combat panel is next with stats.

A lot of the work over the last year was making these panels work in all situations, as a pop out window, as a panel inside the history view, and now as a major tab...

9.0 will be coming about Dec 16th.

This features free voice control, which allows you to control your ship using the windows voice engine. I have about 130 commands done so far. It will use your elite bindings so there is no need to manually configure each voice binding. All you will need to make sure is that a phrase you want to use has a key binding (joystick buttons can't be pressed due to windows)

I saw that, and was like wow. I have had a lot of fun researching the tabs, some familiar and some not. really loving the "Shopping List" as I no longer need to jump to another website and search the mod I want and figure out what I need, or even go in the ship and find what I need for synthesis as it's right there. Excellent...

Question, why do most my tabs save on restarting EDDiscovery, all except the Synthesis, Engineering and Shopping Lists? I have to keep adding these each time, while all my other customized tabs like the Loadout, Star List, Estimated Value and Statistics load up on startup as I want?

I keep re-saving the current Theme (if this even matters for the tabs), but I still keep having the same issue each time...
