At the top of the main grid on the front tab there is a date filter, an event filter and a search box. Make sure you're not accidentally hiding everything with one of those...

Hi,

thanks for the tips.

I managed to get it sorted. It seems that it had given me two commanders. One, the default was blank, the second was my correct one. I deleted the blank line in settings and it has pulled in my logs files and I can see my journey.

Still can't see my journey on the "d map, only the 3D map. Not sure what is causing this issue but I will continue to dig around.

WE have released a new Betaversion for EDDiscovery 5.1

https://github.com/EDDiscovery/EDDiscovery/releases/tag/Release_5.1.1Beta

Wiki is updated with much more info and help. https://github.com/EDDiscovery/EDDiscovery/wiki

And the scan panel showing system with info made from scans is very nice.
https://camo.githubusercontent.com/...92e696d6775722e636f6d2f395039395434432e706e67

Beta release will install in parallell to normal version. I expect we release a non beta version soon....

Scan panel?!? Where? Please? :)

Major applause for EDD: It instantly recognized my alt account, and is working properly. :)

I have Seymour The Adder back, and I just need a DSS, which I am grinding for. This alt is a vanilla Elite account, without Horizons, and is working out well.

The only downer is that I am going to have to go back to my main account, and gather my ships, and wits. Not many of both. :)

Lots of combat-ready ships in the main account. But, my alt account is giving me much pleasure in simply buzzing around, exploring, and running the pitiful mission boards.

I only need *one* ship. And, a simpler game experience is totally worth the $20 USD required to save my main account from a clean save.

A Cobra 3, or an Asp Explorer is my goal. Then, I can really travel, with no worries about impacting my RL time. No grinding for mats, etc. I can shut down for the night, with no worries.

And EDD is a great aid for doing that. Thank you.

Hello Cmdrs!

Is it possible to resend all detailed scan info for stars/planets in EDDiscovery logs to EDDB & EDSM databases?

I have scanned a big system but then I saw that EDD was not running. I restarted it, it loads all logs, but EDDB info about visited system was not updated (no stars', no planets' new entries)

Thanks

Okay, I just updated to 5.1.4 and WOAH, what is this "scan panel" stuff? This may be a stupid question, but how does EDD know the system layout and materials on each landable????

Clearly I am ignorant of some mechanic. I wish to learn how this magic works....

One of the things that FD gave us in 2.2 is Journals. Like the old netlogs but so much more data, including all the stuff in the scan panel. Check the journal tab on the main form to see all of yours, there's a record of all kinds of stuff. Damage taken, fuel used per jump, scan details, all sorts. There's a full set of documentation here

If you turn on the S-Panel (button on the front tab) you can get an overlay that can be configured to show you planet surface scan details on screen as the scan completes too, saves checking the sysmap.

Hay Awesome EDDiscovery Devs,

Are you guys also the creators of the Awesome EDDB website?

If so I have a request (if not, could you put me on to the right people pretty please)...

I was hoping to be able to query the system data by coordinates. I see you can query by just about every other relevant field...

Is it possible to add a coordinates query function into the website? (returning nearest x number of known systems by distance from query coordinates)

No we are not behind EDDB but we are "friends" If i had more time i would help develop EDDB too....
I think he (themroc) can add that if you ask nice and he his time over :)

I'm playing with the s-panel, trying the scan location. It doesn't like it. After 2 changes it crashes the whole app:

YyPGMCl.png

Also, initial scans don't always appear (I put the spanel over the main window just to show the star is captured in the spanel but not main window).
1XFvgiH.png

After restart (due to the crash) the main window is fine again, and next scan did appear also. the s-panel decided to ignore relocating the planet info until the next scan though.

fwiw, I reckon it would be nice to have the body scan info as a 2nd panel. I would personally put the jump info and target at the top of my screen, and the body info over on the right below the info strip where the clock is. Having it all in one means the panel needs to quite large which is a bit intrusive.

It's really looking awesome though guys. o7

Dammit, thought I'd got all those index out of range errors. I'll see if I can reproduce later, do you remember what the 2 changes were?

Show right [scan in game] (worked ok), show bottom (no response), show left (crash)
Show bottom, show left (crash).

I think that's what I did.

Inconsistently....show left (ok), show top (no response), show right (no response), jump, scan (updates and repositions), show bottom (no response), scan (updates and repositions), show right, (no response), scan (updates and repositions)
