Hello again.

I can't imagine exploring without EDDiscovery these days, many many thanks.

Is there a way to toggle off the routes of others on the 3d map so I can see the region areas and names more clearly?

You can toggle lots of things via the icons and submenus along the top. Personally I prefer a rather spartanic configuration:

Hello.
I'm currently charting the materials locally to my player group and exporting details nicely. One thing causing my spreadsheet to have gaps is the planets which already show materials and don't need scanning.

Would anyone know if it's possible to get that data?

If you manually key it into eddb then it should filter through to EDSM and EDD. I'm not sure if that data is included in exports currently though.

No it doesn't appear to be. I suspected I would have to do it manually. I think I can work with it though, thanks for the reply!

Ok, I'm going to ask a really stupid question as I can't see it in the help wiki:
How does one access the trip panel and other pop out panels??

And another: I'm convinced someone said EDD shows the habitable zone for each star, so how does it do that?

Tackling your second question, Habitable Zones are listed in the star’s popup window. Just hover your mouse over the star icon and read what appears. HZ boundaries are expressed in light-seconds, so divide by 480 to get it in AU.

Looks like this but how is it calculated I have no idea. Already found some earth-likes outside of this zone, so as it says - it is approximate only.

That values are only reliable if you are in a system with a single star. As you add more of them, the heat raises and the Goldilocks zones is farther away the bigger and closer those other stars are.

Jackie Silver made a stand-alone tool that takes that in account (but I don't know how accurate that is).

Hi All
First thanks for this great app which I've just started using :)
Quick question, not sure if it's been asked and answered before (it's a long thread!) can eddiscovery be run on a separate computer over a network? I would prefer to have all the data available on a separate screen.

Many thanks
Regards
G

Yes ... you can specify an "override rounal location" for each CMDR, so I see no reason why you couldn't just make a network share of your ED journal directory and just point EDDiscovery to look in that network folder.

Not that I've tried it myself, but give it a try :)

Thanks for the reply, I'll give it a go :) can see me fiddling with the set up rather than playing tonight :D

Thanks

Hello, I've recently updated EDdiscovery to the latest version but it still shows the old version, 7.0.3.0 I already tried uninstalling and reinstalling.

Hi.. what a great tool!
Simply can not do without it!

Here is something I would like fixed: (or at least show me how to fix it?)
Rather than show every time my ship scoops 5 tons of fuel, just merge it into a single scoop.

Please?

Thank you, very much!

That would break 1:1 consistency with the journal. Possible, but probably conflicts with other goals for EDDiscovery...

I believe 1 AU is 499.something Ls

The HZ calc for EDDiscovery is based on Jackie's code. This is what led me to EDDiscovery in the first place!

The accuracy for both is close, but not absolute.
