I'm seeing sporadic timeouts sending to EDDN today. Anyone else?

I´ve informed jamesremuscat. FD notifications don´t always work for him. Also send an email to Anthornet who has already responded here. Wanted to check out eddb.io but the EDDN stats page is down.

Update: Forgot to mention that the eddn-monitor shows messages being distributed.

Hi all,

Please take this as notice of some downtime for EDDN at around 23:00 BST (22:00GMT, 00:00 CEST) on 1st July, for the deployment of v0.5.

The main changes in this release are configuration: namely, dropping support for the v1 schema, and adding support for a new shipyard information schema. Thanks to all who have contributed to this release.

Total interruption should be less than 30 minutes.

Thunderbirds are go. There is white smoke (pope election like).
James: Thanks for the official announcement.

Not seen any problems at our end (since the small outage that ended 2015-06-27 09:30 BST or so), and other messages are getting through fine. Is this still an issue for you?
Only about 1 in 3 connection attempts succeed. The others time out.

I don't know
Looking at this stuff makes my head spin. It's not something normal people use only coders and hackers. Either make it more user friendly or stop talking about how awesome it is, if only 5% of the people understand what you talking about or how to use it anyway.

Look at the first page. It doesn't make any sense to normal people.

A lot of links to reddit posts, how about a download link? How about a description how that stuff is supposed to work?

Wow...
Well as you said. This Thread is meant for coders who implement EDDN in their programs (or tools of any kind). You as a user don't need to know anything about EDDN beside the fact that it is a information relay. It means everybody can send data to it and the data will be distributed to everybody.

There are sender programs and receiver programs. My EliteOCR only sends data. Eddb.io is a receiver. RegulatedNoise is both sender and receiver. There are quite few tools out there which allows you to share your market data or receive publicly shared data from others. We expect there to be more very soon.

If you decide to write a tool using EDDN in any way, we will be more than happy to help you. If you don't then don't worry. You won't miss a thing.

Mate this is a service for sharing data, if you don't understand it then you don't need to be here :)

This should be quoted on the front page. It totally described what this all is about :)

Good idea. I´ve added a slightly edited version of Seebeks text to the very top of my OP.
Its better to directly scare them away then to receive suboptimal constructive posts here ;-)

Guys, I just want to express thanks for running and maintaining EDDN. With new commodity v2 schema everything is better and "safer", so I decided to subscribe Inara to EDDN too. It's little bit more complicated to post partial updates with v2 schema, but as majority of data are coming from OCR and non-OCR tools as a whole bunch (which is better), it probably doesn't matter. So, thanks again! :)

Your very welcome. To be clear Inara is now receiving as well as sending data to the EDDN? Is that send data coming from your users which upload and EliteOCR .csv file? Reason for asking is that I can't seem to find Inara as a sender in the EDDN-monitor.

For now just receiving. As .csv imports are from tools that are able to send data to EDDN usually, I am keeping it to user's decision if they want to share "their" routes or not. :)
